Nachdem Elena, der Host uns freundlich auf WhatsApp begrüßt hatte, war danach Funkstille. Das wifi hatte nicht funktioniert und jeder konstruktive Versuch der Kontaktaufnahme wurde ignoriert. Die Terrasse, die so schön das Anwesen und den Blick zeigt, existiert - aber die Liegen sind alles Schrotthaufen in einer Ecke gestapelt und die Tische fallen auseinander

Not worth the money - disappointing

Amazing view. Very clean. Renovated.

Kettle doesn’t work. So you can’t really make coffee or tea. No hangers in the wardrobe. No space in the bathroom for any of our toiletries. No shampoo but only refilled soap that is not labeled properly. Mould in the shower. No reply from Elena, the lady who texted me for checkin details since 2 days ago even though I texted about these issues. Housekeeping knocking on the door at 9.30 despite 10am checkout.

Es gibt keinen persönlichen Kontakt, nur über WhatsApp. Fanden wir nicht optimal. Außerdem hat das wlan selbst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen nicht funktioniert. Die Parkplatz Situation ist auch nicht optimal, aber das wussten wir.

Excelente vista

La vista es increíble, está muy bien ubicado y se pueden ver los viñedos. Tiene un restaurante cerca que es muy bueno y llegar a la parte baja del pueblo es fácil.

La señora de la limpieza era un poco invasiva, estábamos en la habitación y continuaba a preguntar si podía limpiar pero en un modo bastante insistente, en otra ocasión la encontramos en la habitación en la tarde cuando ya había limpiado en la mañana, por lo que no entendimos que hacia allí. Podrían beneficiarse de tener almohadas un poco mejores.

Do not stay here!

This is the worst host I have ever experienced in any room booking. Firstly she forgot to send check in details so we couldn't access the room. There was no tea, coffee or wifi as advertised. When I asked her about this she ignored my questions. We went and purchased coffee but the jug was broken and the plug didn't even fit the wall socket. The second night the room flooded due to rain coming down the steps and under the door. When I messaged my concern (along with pictures) about the room flooding and there was forecast for heavy rain all night she replied saying "it's raining alot". Which was more than the people staying downstairs who did not receive any response. Lastly the terrace which is available to all guests is full of broken chairs and tables. A simple acknowledgement and correspondence would have gone a long way to rectifying these issues.

La vue et l’emplacement.

La terrace qui est montrée dans les photos est laissée complètement à l’abandon! Les chaises longues sont empilées une sur l’autre brisée! Les tables et les chaises presque toutes brisées. À notre arrivée, plus d’eau chaude (le problème a été réglé pendant le séjour). Une forte odeur de moisissure (humidité) plane dans la chambre. Pas de réseau wifi

Mi è piaciuta la vista, era veramente magica, così come la posizione!

Non mi è piaciuto il fatto che la responsabile Elena che mi ha inviato il messaggio di benvenuto con i relativi codici d'accesso, poi sia completamente sparita non rispondendo più ai messaggi che avevo inoltrato. Voglio credere che sia successo qualche imprevisto... Per il resto il Fono del bagno di qualità scarsa poiché nel momento in cui si surriscaldava si bloccava e poi dovevi aspettare 5/6 minuti perché si raffreddasse... non proprio il massimo. Fortuna che con la finestra aperta c'era fresco perché il condizionatore non ha funzionato cosa che ho detto sia al servizio di pulizia della camera la mattina dopo il pernottamento ed anche ad Elena che non ha risposto al messaggio. Location da favola e posizione e vista ottimi! Si è salvata per questo, come promemoria ai responsabili: sapete bene che non siete i soli ad averla, quindi occhio a come si trattano i clienti!

Bien mais attention à la description

Appartement propre et moderne.

La description de la chambre ne correspond pas à la réalité : on a l impression que le balcon avec vue sur la mer est depuis la chambre, mais non. Il faut sortir et descendre des marches pour voir la vue. Je sélectionne toujours les hébergements en fonction de la vue du coup cela est pour moi rédhibitoire et explique la note de 6. Par ailleurs la lumière du miroir de la salle de bain ne fonctionne pas et si j'en crois les commentaires cela fait plusieurs mois que les hôtes l' ont signalé mais pas de réaction du propriétaire. Très embêtant pour se préparer le matin. Très peu d'eau chaude , nous étions 4 et seul le premier à pu prendre une douche chaude. Pas de rideaux aux fenêtres du coup on est réveillé par le jour. Pour les personnes qui ont du mal à marcher attention l'appartement est en hauteur de manarola du coup beaucoup de marches ou de descentes pour aller dans le centre du village et idem pour remonter à l'appartement.

Best views of Manarola

Quite possibly the best view in Manarola, absolutely stunning. This is what you are paying for with this room as the room is otherwise extremely basic and no support at all.

Responsiveness of the team. There is no one on site and communication for arrival came through whatsapp - did not provide information needed (best way to access noting Manarola is EXTREMELY hilly - DO NOT take the stair route like we did!, wifi info, etc) and did not respond timely to messages. Room was clean but no privacy - can see clearly into bathroom window, proper shades required. The room otherwise met our needs but is very basic.

Many glaring issues, uncaring host, nice terrace

Unfortunately, there is very little positive I can say about this accomodation

From the beginning you are made to feel that the hosts are running the business with the contempt for customers they can afford due to the prime location of the accommodation and the view from the terrace. The first issue was a lack of WiFi. This issue was present even prior to us moving in according to the previous guests. The host refused to address this issue and blanked multiple calls and messages about this The second issue was a lack of hot water during our stay. When we reported this we also had no response or attempt at resolution from the host. We had to shower cold. The third issue was that the terrace (which is the major selling point of the accommodation on Booking.com) is not well maintained at all. There was one wobbly table and a couple of unsteady chairs (pictures attached). At the back of the terrace there is a graveyard of old broken furniture. There are metal elements protruding from the floor disguised with an upside down bucket and a rusty step ladder. The fourth issue was is a complete lack of basic equipment to improve the quality of your stay. No plates, cutlery, no bottle opener, no microwave - nothing. There were 2 wine glasses in an apartment for 4. This is particularly upsetting as you have to carry everything with you from the car park up the winding roads, so all the more I would expect the apartments to have such basic necessities. Finally, no attempt at helping us move in at all. Other accommodations at least offered a wheelbarrow or trolley to help guests move their luggage from the car park to the accommodation but out host refused to help us in any way Overall, this was a disappointing stay. There were multiple issues and when we tried to report them, nothing was done at all. The host clearly doesn't care about her guests given the fact that whilst ignoring our WhatsApp messages, she continued to post stories online!

WiFi didn’t work. We reached out to owners but they ignored us. We did ask precisely about WiFi before booking. There were spider nests in the ceiling across property. They send us request to pay higher tourist tax than required by the law.

Goede locatie voor een overnachting met een fantastisch uitzicht!

Locatie met fantastisch uitzicht naar de zee vanaf het bijbehorende gezamenlijke terras. Je bent met een paar minuten beneden in het centrum van Manarola. Bijna ernaast ligt een fantastisch restaurantje. Wel druk, dus absoluut reserveren!

Alleen via app contact met de host. Voor het openen van de deur krijg je een code. Geen mogelijkheid tot ontbijt. Kamer in de grot heeft geen raam om naar buiten te kijken en ruikt een beetje vochtig, maar is wel mooi ingericht. Terrasmeubilair was bijna geheel versleten. Was erg armoedig.

Stunning views!

Me and my son enjoyed our stay in room "Calipso" for three nights in mid june. Nice and clean room with a balcony with wonderful views over the sea, town and mountains. There was a refrigerator in the room which we stuffed with water, soft drinks and some food for breakfast. It also had a great AC, which was so nice since it was really hot outside. I would highly recommend Olimpo Affittacamere. We would love to stay there again! 😃

The only minus is that I contacted the host twice regarding if they could issue resident tourist cards for us (only for tourists staying in Manarola or Riomaggiore), but I didn't get any reply. With a resident tourist card you get a discount on the Via dell'Amore-road, and you can also walk in any direction you want and even later in the evenings, when the road is closed for other tourists.

Pas d'eau chaude!! À fuir absolument – expérience décevante et malhonnêteté !

Il n'y a rien a aimé ni à apprécier! c'était notre première journée de vacances et la propriétaire Elena a tout gâché avec son comportement!!!!

Nous avons payé 184 € pour une chambre qui était censée offrir un minimum de confort, notamment de l’eau chaude, ce qui était clairement mentionné dans l’annonce. À notre grande surprise, pas une goutte d’eau chaude pendant notre séjour! Nous avons contacté la propriétaire immédiatement : aucune solution proposée, elle nous a répondu au téléphone qu’elle ne pouvait rien faire pour nous sur le moment. Lorsque je lui ai dit que c’était inacceptable et que je demandais un remboursement, elle m’a dit "d’accord" d’un ton désinvolte... juste pour raccrocher aussitôt. Pire encore, lorsqu’on a officiellement déposé une plainte via Booking, elle a tout nié et refusé le remboursement. Heureusement, grâce à l’intervention de Booking, nous avons pu obtenir un remboursement partiel (de la part de booking et non pas de la propriétaire), mais l’attitude de la propriétaire reste inacceptable et malhonnête. Un établissement à fuir : communication irrespectueuse, promesses non tenues, service inexistant. Je ne recommande absolument pas. Voir commentaire plus bas (celui de Benoit qui y était juste avant nous et qui confirme bien qu'il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude).

Det saknas för mkt saker. Fanns bara 2 koppar och 2 teskedar, 2 vinglas men ingen vin öppnare….Löste sig gott med en snickarpenna som fanns att tillgå. Möblerna på terassen var i mycket dåligt skick och det fanns bara fyra stolar. Bilderna är flera år gamla.

The location is fantastic and the room is of a good size for up to four guests. Check in was smooth and the beds comfortable overall.

The furniture on advertised terrace is in disrepair. There are only two functional chairs and one table. The heat pump was also unreliable at times.

Ein schönes Zimmer in höherer Lage, nicht weit entfernt vom Zentrum.

Das Zimmer ist hell und freundlich und enthält alles, was man braucht. Im Vorfeld gab es eine gute Kommunikation mit Elena. Am besten war, dass wir schon vormittags in unser Zimmer gehen konnten, um unser Gepäck abzustellen. Super! Am nächsten Morgen trafen wir Rosalba, die hier sauber macht. Sie ist sehr nett!!

Um die Unterkunft zu erreichen, muss man viele Treppen steigen.

Everything we hoped for

Beautiful view from the balcony of both the ocean and the town and mountains. Nice room with a comfortable bed. Location was perfect for escaping the throngs of fellow tourists in town.

Just don't trust Google maps to get you there the best way. Follow the main road of the town up the hill and around from the back. Google maps took us through a maze of steep stairs that just about killed us with all our luggage.
