Absolutely lovely accommodations - very clean room,beautiful view, comfy bed, coffee and tea makers available, stocked mini fridge, large bathroom, hot shower. Definitely recommend this amazing place!
This was our first time in Manarola so we didn’t fully understand the concept of a town built on a hill. The Main Street through town is a steep hill and there are a lot of steps…. so think twice if you have any health or mobility issues.
We made a critical error upon arrival… we turned the wrong way and because our gps happily recalculated, we blindly followed it. Follow these directions to avoid the same mistake….
Come out of the train tunnel and turn RIGHT. Go up, up, up the hill past the church until you see a little sign for Trattoria Billy’s on your right. It will be on a stonewall and the steps are behind the wall. Then go UP 50 steps and then follow the sidewalk to #175 on your left. Then you will go up a few steps to a sidewalk that takes you to the door. Then once inside go down the hallway and it is another 15 steps to your room.
If you happen to go left out of the tunnel, your gps WILL take you there, but it will take you down a street and then UP about 300 steps…. LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE!!! Turn RIGHT OUT OF THE TRAIN TUNNEL!

We ended up with a 2 bedroom, so it was extremely spacious, with a central seating area. While a steep walk up - as is most of Manarola - I would argue that the view is one of the best in the city, looking out over both the sea and the town. It was breath-taking and was just an absolute pleasure to sit out on the small terrace in the late afternoon and early evening. Communication with Francesca was excellent and she went above and beyond to ensure that we were met a short distance from the train station by Giovanna, who walked us all the way to our room. All of Cinque Terre is remarkable...really one of the most beautiful places I have been...but the stay at Affitticamare San Giorgio certainly added to our overall awe. It was one of the highlights of our trip, among many! We were choosing between 2 different locations - one more down in the city - and San Giorgio, and I can say without a doubt I would choose San Giorgio if we are ever lucky enough to return to this gorgeous area of Italy.
