Nicely situated on the side of the loch
We had read bad reviews of the property so we were relieved it didn’t live up to those! But, for the price paid it didn’t offer good value - it was the most expensive by far of the places we stayed during our NC500 trip. The room was small and with no TV, which didn’t seem good for the price. The food in the bar/restaurant was very good although, of course, this wasn’t included in the stay price. We were expecting a good breakfast but this proved disappointing ( though not due to the lovely girl who served us, I think). The breakfast menu seemed very good, and promising, but the whole serving process took about an hour with food for groups coming out one at a time with our porridge turning up after about 45 minutes ( and very disappointing for Scotland). There was loads of smoked salmon on our dish of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast, although the toast was on the side and despite the fact that we waited ages for it it seemed only warm as if it had been languishing in the kitchen for some time. Not sure if toast and marmalade etc was part of the breakfast, but we gave up anyway! After our nice meal the evening before, and the good choice breakfast menu we were expecting to give a good review of the property but I’m afraid for £200 a night, no view of the loch from our small room, and the disappointing breakfast we are u able to do so.
