Burnside Cottage & Caravan Woodend

Location was very pretty and the continental breakfast was very nice. Neat and tidy, plus the hosts were kind and accommodating - even letting us check out later at short notice with no extra cost!

Location was further outside Portree than we realised.

Michael was a top notch host who went out of his way to make us comfortable. He gave us a ride back to Portree early in the morning to catch our next bus. He was available to help with any questions or needs. His B&B was a few miles outside Portree, and was a welcome change from the overcrowding in Portree. The location required a taxi for us to get to since we were using public transportation. Be aware that the bathroom is shared with another room, but it isn't attached to either room and wasn't a problem.

Skye is expensive and the public transportation is inadequate, requires a lot of pre-planning.

The host reached out to communicate but we never actually saw them. They offered instructions to checkin so we did not have to coordinate a time. It was nice to be able to use all the kitchen items. The location was perfect with great views and practically in town.

We knew we would have to share a bathroom but it was oddly shaped. My husband is 6ft and couldn't stand in it to use the facilities due to the sloped ceiling. The breakfast was a tray of food (meats and cheese and boiled eggs). We didn't eat much as it was a bit oddly put together.
