Burnside Cottage & Caravan Woodend

Loved the central location for exploring the island. It was a very quiet location too. Although we had a short drive into Portree we were able to find parking in the car park in the center of town. We were there in late September so I imagine it could be more of an issue during peak season.

Not much to dislike. We had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves (two bedrooms and a bathroom and small fridge. On the first floor were two additional bedrooms that were occupied by other guests as well as a shared full kitchen and living room. I suppose some travelers may not like that they may be sharing the house but was perfectly fine with our 5 family members. Lastly there are two gates that have to be opened manually to access the property which isn't a big deal unless it's raining...

La struttura è un bel cottage in mezzo al nulla, arrivando di sera vi godete una bella vista del cielo stellato e non è troppo lontana dalla via principale.

Il bagno in comune si trova nell’ingresso, tra la porta di ingresso e la porta di entrata, piuttosto scomodo, inoltre la vasca utilizzata come doccia tendeva ad allagare il bagno, che era molto freddo. Non siamo andati in mesi invernali, ma di certo non sarà piacevole con basse temperature. Capisco l’esclusività dell’isola e le poche strutture disponibili ma più di 200 euro per una coppia per una notte senza nemmeno la colazione è veramente eccessivo per avere pure il bagno in comune con altri ospiti.

The breakfast was amazing. The man who greeted us was very polite and pleasant.

Didn't like shared bathroom, didn't use the shower. Didn't like the fact we had stepped into someone's house and they had just left everything. lack of chairs in sitting room, one was placed under the stairs. No table to eat our food from, in sitting room. Didn't want to take breakfast up to room. Had to wait while other guests were sorting out their breakfast. Just a very uncomfortable experience
