An Absolute Gem

Just perfect. Great location, less than 20 minutes walk to the Castle and town centre, but very quiet, with safe parking. This is a beautifully appointed apartment over 3 floors, with everything you could need for a super comfy stay. The kitchen on the ground floor has all new, modern appliances, the bathroom on the top floor is spacious, with a lovely shower and lots of little touches, including a magnifying mirror, which was very useful, the bedroom on the middle floor next to the sitting room was lovely, with a super comfy bed, great linens and a really handy dressing table. Louise and Chris were so friendly and helpful, giving tips on eating out and we felt so welcome. I cannot recommend this lovely apartment highly enough and we will be back soon.

Great stay in Carlisle

The location was perfect - near enough to the city centre but in a quiet location. The property was modern and nicely furnished. The bathroom was spacious and airy, the kitchen had everything we needed ; the lounge area was cosy and the bedroom well proportioned. Nice touches were milk and orange juice in the fridge, coffee, tea and biscuits for us on arrival. Louise, the host, was very friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful Stay

The facilities and accommodation were exceptional at The Annex, Louise was so kind and provided a wonderful welcome. What I loved about The Annex was that you can tell how well it has been looked after by the hosts. No expense spared on the bed and linen for example which was very comfortable. It felt like a home from home setting. Very clean, perfect size, beautifully quiet surroundings but close to the town centre and I loved that it had its own entrance point from the road. We were in Carlisle for a wedding and our friends were very jealous of our accommodation compared to their local hotel stays. Thank you again Louise, and if we are ever in Carlisle again, we most definitely would want to stay again.

Well appointed property

Lovely accommodation attached to the back of the owners house on a private road with on street parking. Rooms and kitchen clean and well and appointed. Host met us on arrival and gave us a rundown of the property and facilities.

The annex thumbs up.

The annex was spotless, knocked once to talk to owner(Chris) he was very pleasant made to feel welcome, a little home from home. Milk and juice in fridge and a couple of coffee pods, very thoughtful. Could not fault the annex in any way.

No bad comments at all would definitely recommend.

A little gem in a quiet location

This apartment was very clean and spacious with quality furnishings. Had everything we needed for a short stay and in a quiet location. It was set over 3 floors with kitchen on the bottom, lounge and bedroom on second and bathroom on top.

It didn’t bother us but stairs were a little bit steep.

Loved the location. Easy walking distance into town. Lovely wide road with plenty of car parking space. The flat was spotlessly clean and light and airy. Excellent bed and bedding. well equipped bathroom with range of toiletries. Quality of equipment and fittings very good. Basics provided for breakfast and nice to find milk and orange juice in the fridge upon arrival.

Might be a good idea to mention that property is over 3 floors and that stairs are quite steep.

Beautiful little annex

The Annex is about 20mins walk from the town centre, in a nice quiet area. The Annex was modern and very clean. Louise (the owner) was on hand and very obliging pre arrival and on arrival. The Annex had absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay, even including crumpets, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, orange juice and jam to get us started. We had a very comfortable stay there, and would definitely go back.

The only thing we didn't like, while watching TV in the sitting room that our necks got sore. This could be remedied by using a wall bracket with more of a tilt, or a recliner sofa. Having said that, there was a big TV in the bedroom, so when we wanted to watch TV we just propped ourselves up and watched in there.

It is a very lovely, clean property in a good location in Carlisle. There is a lot of attention to detail. The hosts provided a generous welcome pack with coffee, tea, milk, cereals etc. The walk into Carlisle city centre takes about 20 minutes.

Excellent, this was our second stay and would recommend it unreservedly!

Lovely, well equipped hideaway for 2. Walking distance of Carlisle (about 25-30 minutes). Supermarket on same route- Sainsbury’s and Aldi. The compact dishwasher is perfect for 2 people. If you are driving around take the parking disc from under the sink with you as you may need it to park. Parking outside the property is easy. Great location to be based in for traveling further afield E.g. to see Hadrian’s wall or the Ribblehead viaduct (we walked to the station in Carlisle and took the train)

Tiny issues - nowhere to hang longer clothes such as dresses - no slotted spoon in the kitchen - we couldn’t find the dustpan and brush but I’m sure there was one last year!

Super little gem in a nice area of Carlisle. A 20 minute walk into the city.

The Annex is a high-quality self-catering pad. Over three levels, access is up narrow stairs so not suitable for people with any sort of disability. All fittings, finishes and equipment are top-quality. Good linen in the bedroom and a lovely spacious bathroom on the upper floor in the loft (would be great to put a bath in there!) Kitchen/dining is very small and we felt a bit cramped. Lounge area on the first floor is small too but adequate if just one or two people for a short stay. Consider putting in a cupboard for clothes as opposed to the stylish but impractical boxes on shelves. Louise the host was lovely and very helpful.

Kitchen/dining area very small but it is what it is. Very clever use of the limited space! It would be great to have a bath - there is plenty of space. Stairs are very steep (but well designed) and not suitable for older or infirm guests or very young children. Best to point this out to avoid disappointment. This didn't bother us however. Compared to other places we stayed on our tour around the UK, The Annex was a little pricey. However, we still enjoyed staying there.
