The place was great
The fact that we paid 405 pounds and the owner only recieved 265 pounds. That is a disgraceful gross commission no the part of BOOKINGS.COM. Meaning that the owner received 65% of what we paid. THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS since the owner has to provide all the building, installation, cleaning, heating, maintenance, etc

The location of the cottage in between Ambleside and Grasmere, on hill top. The breathtaking lake (Grasmere) view from the living room window. The quietness, far from hustle-bustle and motor sounds. The whole spacious first floor with large living room, the cleanliness, kitchen with all utensils and cutleries. Big spacious bathroom. The small stream near the garden behind the cottage.
No exhaust in the kitchen and bathroom. Toaster and oven didn't work. No toiletries apart from handwash. No refreshments. Could have few boardgames. No enough hot water for bath, but enough for very slow small shower.

We love the location of this place. Quiet and peaceful with a great view down to the lake. We've been a couple of times and had a really good break. We will return again.
It's a little dated but very clean and lovely light rooms.
Facilities are good but the fridge might be a little small for a family.

Great location, away from the hustle and bustle. Loads if walks, runs on the door step. Amazing views, short ride into Ambleside or Windermere also nice walk into both.
It was all good.

The location was excellent, great views across Windermere lake from the front rooms.
The apartment was spacious, and well equipped
The only thing that I had to get used to was no instant hot water. just had to wait for the tank to get warm.

Location was excellent. The view from the first floor window was a joy to behold.
The heating could be temperamental. Sometimes it came on and sometimes it didn't despite the owner coming to just the timer. Thank goodness there was an electric fire in the lounge.

Excellent views from the first floor windows, quiet apart from the occasional sheep which was adorable and its as clean and tidy as I'd keep my home. It had everything we need as a home away from home (including wifi) and Sue was easy to contact in case we have any questions.
You have to look out for the very sharp left turn towards the property as the sign for it is facing the opposite direction of where we were driving so we almost missed it. And to achieve the beautiful views from the apartment, be prepared for a rather adventurous drive if you're a city folk like me. Oh and last but not the least, if you need to make a call, do it in one of the bedrooms and do not move around xD

Great views of the lake and lovely walking locations to Ambleside

Very picturesque location. Views of lake and hills to die for.
Clean property-quite spacious.
Decent wi-fi in sitting room.
We were ok with it-but you must be aware-it is up a steep, narrow drive. So see if your car and your driving skills are up to it. If another car comes-you will have to reverse on those steep windy roads. But the view and sunset is worth it.
Poor wi-fi in some rooms.
Biggest complaint-there is a switch for hot water in corridor-outside kitchen. It is not marked!! It was left off and we were not told-so had no hot water in morning!! Owners to mark it prominently and advise the guests every time.

Susan the owner was very prompt and helpful in here replies. We would stay here again. The view is wonderful! The road to the apartment is single with passing places, fortunately we never met any on-coming traffic as it is a private road.
My friends felt the beds were fine but, a little soft for their liking; we all slept well. The fridge is a small one but, adequate to store a couple of days worth of fresh food; this is necessary for best use of the space. We would have preferred access to a washing machine as a convenience rather than needing a launderette more important for longer holidays. The immersion heater switch is at light switch height next to the kitchen door, perhaps labelling it as such would have stopped us accidentally switching it off.

Property was lovely, spacious, amazing views, with all we needed. Good location for access to windermere and other lake district sights. Great that we could take our dog with us too.
Loved it!!!
The only issue we had was the approach to the property wasn't without its challenges. The lane was a single track lane through fields with no passing points. Our car suffered some damage as we tried to manoeuvre off road to pass another car. So beware!
