A wonderful cottage, perfect for our week away

Great location, beautiful building - plenty of space (much bigger than the photos show). Comfortable throughout and well appointed - decent kitchen, plentiful hot water, really nice bathroom. Great views up the valley, with the added bonus of highland cattle and Galloways surrounding the cottage! A short drive into Ambleside for good pubs and restaurants. Plenty of walks on the surrounding fells without need to drive.

Cold - the night storage heaters don’t seem quite sufficient to keep the cottage warm in winter. Finding the property in the dark was a little tricky as the name on the entrance is different to that in the description - look for the sign ‘Kirkstone Bed & Breakfast’!

Nice cottage, with a TINY telly

No email received about code for lock box. Also Willow cottage is VERY difficult to find, so directions would have been nice. Also, a sign at the end of the drive on the road side, saying Willow cottage ' would have been even nicer. Asked a local who'd lived there for 20 years, and he'd 'never heard of it'. Had to ring booking.com twice, for hosts contact phone numbers (neither of which, were answered), and to find out code for lock box. Also a very remote property, so you need to be quite fit, unless you plan to drive everywhere

Beautiful location with fine views of the hills. Cottage is very warm and comfortable. Excellent bathroom.

A fantastic weekend away retreat that absolutely fitted the bill thank you very much

Location was absolutely perfect with stunning views, peace and quiet and Ambleside short walk away. The facilities were great and the enclosed garden perfect for dog.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Great views of the surrouding area. Easy access to the town.

The road to the cottage is 'interesting' (we quickly realised why it's called The Struggle), as is the driveway to the cottage itself. Maybe not one for novice drivers.

Well equipped cottage in a quiet place a few minutes away from Ambleside.

Great view, very quiet place in the middle og the sheeps. Having dishwasher and washing machine helps a lot with logistics.

Quantity of cutlery was a bit limited ; The taps of the bathroom sink are very small and not very practical with kids. (no big deal though).
