Great walks from the cottage door, however the bed was too uncomfortable to warrant another stay

Good location in terms of short walk to Ambleside. Great views.

Firstly, we were given the wrong code for the key box so had to call for correct one which was not quick (on hold for several minutes). The double bed was extremely uncomfortable (far too soft). We are not heavy and we sank into it and neither of us had a comfortable nights sleep all week. We stayed three years ago and had the same issue- we were hoping it may have been rectified by now! The carbon monoxide alarm went off at close to midnight one night so I had to stay up until 2am to wait for an engineer to check the property. We then had to chase up a phone call to the local office to arrange the gas to be put back on.

Nice location, but would benefit from a major refresh.

Location is great for Ambleside - although it’s a steep walk of a few hundred metres.

Cottage is very tired and needs a refresh, beds, bedding etc, with lots of DIY evident.

Cozy place :)

Location is good, close to the trails and the city center. Lovely old house, really cute.

The street is narrow and steep. Toilet is too small and discomfort due to the smell of the carpet.

Great location. It wouldn't take too much effort to make this a stunning cottage.

Great location with lovely views to front and back. Only a few minutes walk into Ambleside with a welcoming pub The Golden Rule minutes away.

The cottage is in need of a little tlc - the mattress in the main bedroom is very uncomfortable, the kitchen cutlery needs an overhaul and the information provided about the local area was woeful with brochures out of date (one of the magazines was from 2009) and the cottage info referred to Sky TV which wasn't available. Not sure I'd want to be there in cold weather with no double glazing and a badly fitting front door.

A stunning location in a cosy comfy cottage with wonderful views.

Location was excellent, wonderful views and backed onto fields, lashings of hot water and excellent heating system.

Instructions inside the property about the heating were out of date, dated 1996 applicable to storage heaters that were now non existent replaced by central heating

Wi-fi did not work and despite raising it with the company who said someone would look at it, no-one came
