We didn't want to leave.

The breakfast was gorgeous, and despite the fact we were the only ones staying, 2nd week of January, the also put out fresh fruit salad everyday too. Extremely friendly and chatty staff, and lovely a quiet location only a short walk from the village.

Was pleasant but wouldn’t stay here again

Location was nice and the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was very tasty

The floorboards was very very uneven and squeaky to the point I didn’t want to walk on them as was very noisy and felt bad for everyone else in rooms near us ! But was almost everywhere in the room … also was offered an upgrade on the room with a view but didn’t realise bathroom was seperate as I originally booked an ensuite… so in the night had to leave the room for the toilet which I wasn’t expecting but didn’t spoil the stay …

The warmest people in the cold countryside

Fantastic rustic and quaint. An authentic english experience. The hosts especially were some of the nicest people in england. I usually don't go out of my way to write reviews but it was well worth it.

Its a bit of a hike to the town but that's probably why people come to the peak district anyway.

Cosy, friendly atmosphere and a stunning location

Breakfast was great! Plant based options available and great coffee. Very nice private cosy room.

The only problem was there was a snail on the curtains and I have a bit of a phobia from them. Would have been an ideal stay apart from that.

A really stress-relieving weekend.

The owner was there to meet us when we arrived. It is a working farm. Breakfast was good. There are several really good places to eat within a few minutes drive. It is a great location for sightseeing.

Lovely farmhouse

Brilliant location in East walking reach of the town. Room was fairly small but very comfortable bed and good shower. Lovely breakfast and the hosts were so friendly. Would highly recommend.

Superb farmhouse B & B

Beautiful old traditional farmhouse B & B in wonderful location, fields all around and Castleton village very close by (5 min drive into the village centre or can be walked). Nothing not to like, amazing breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, clean comfortable simple rooms. Just right, highly recommend it.

Very good location for walkers. Handsome old building and very nice surrounding views.

Rather drab and gloomy inside. A little bit run down. No comfortable sitting room. Very tiny bathroom and shower in our otherwise spacious family room.

Excellent B&B

Perfect location with stunning vistas, away from the crowds but walking distance to all the main sites. Excellent breakfast (catering perfectly for Coeliacs), using local produce and fresh eggs from the hens on the farm. Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and highly recommended. Once we parked the car at the farm, we didn't need it again until we came home. We had to clear our room, but they kindly let us leave the car there so we could explore more before coming home. Would love to stay there again if we were in the area.

Excellent - clean, friendly and great location

It’s a lovely farmhouse, our room was spacious and clean. Everything was supplied that we needed and breakfast was delicious. All the staff/owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. It’s a quick 15 minute walk into Castleton and also ideally located to walk up Mam Tor or over Hollins Cross to Edale.

The staff were lovely and our host Gary was fab. Full of helpful info on the area. Breakfast was brilliant with any variation you could want. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of tea and coffee etc. The location was just fabulous. Will definitely be back.

Perfect location- 5 mins drive from Castleton, and directly at the foot of Mam Tor, an awesome walk. A genuine working farm, and house with lots of character. Very friendly. We regularly watched a resident hare from the window 😊

Castleton anniversary mini break

Dunscar farm b&b is a gem of Castleton, just on the outskirts, sitting under the view of Mam tor. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. All the toiletries were provided, shower gel and shampoo. There was a little dish on the bedside table with chocolates, which was a lovely jesture. The breakfast was cooked to perfection 👌 with local produce. It's a 15 min walk to the centre of Castleton,walking accross a couple of fields from the farm, where there are lots of restaurants and pubs.Walking back after couple of drinks all added to the fun. There was even a dry room to put coats and walking boots. We absolutely loved it and will definitely return in the future 😀

Lovely break in the country

Lovely farm house away from town and quiet. Close to Winnats Pass and Mam Tor. Wonderful breakfast. Host, Gary was very helpful and friendly.

Lots of cobwebs and spiders in room. Cleared away some myself. My room was on the ground floor with one small window overlooking the parking area. Not a very powerful shower.

Great stay in the perfect location with an excellent host!

The location was perfect for visiting sites in the heart of the Peak District. We could easily walk into Castleton for dinner. Man Tor was about a 20-30 minute hike from the property. Winnat’s Pass is right there. An ideal location! Gary was an excellent host. Very personable and welcoming. He gave us good directions to Mam Tor and how to get to the airport in Manchester, less than an hour even in heavy traffic. Breakfast was outstanding and plentiful. My part was the view from the front garden looking toward Winnat’s Pass. It was stunning!
