Great location. Short walk to the historic landmarks but quiet to relax.
I booked knowing it does not have an elevator, but would have been good since we stayed in the 3rd floor

Staying in the penthouse was an absolute treat. It is located on the top of the building and, yes, one has to climb four stairs, but this is absolutely worth it. The penthouse has a spacious living room with a comfortable couch, a functional and modern design and a large dining table for eating and working. Windows with great views of the city all over. The kitchen is very well equipped with all you need. Bathrooms are spotless clean and the bedrooms spacious and really quiet. The penthouse offers a large terrace with spectacular views of Venice, which must provide a great experience during the spring, summer and autumn. Host Andrea came to open the apartment and is very friendly; do listen to his tips on local restaurants because they are superb. All the rooms of the penthouse are in top shape. The location is excellent, close to all the highlights of Venice, in the middle of the old city with all the canals and near to boat station San Samuele. I truly can't think of a better place to stay. Strongly recommended.
I had a late evening flight, so it was a bit stressful to arrive at the penthouse before midnight, which was the ultimate check-in time. But with the kind assistance of host Andrea all worked out fine.

Our host gave us perfect directions, met us at the waterbus stop and walked us to the apartment. Upon arrival he took his time answering our questions and giving recommendations for restaurants etc.

Emanuela was very helpful with directions before arrival and Andrea met us at the Vaporetto stop to take us to the property which would be quite difficult to find. He carried our bags up to 3rd floor. The apartment is very spacious and clean. The towels provided were very soft.
The location was good close to the lively square of San Stefano but you had to reach the property down a long dark very quiet alley which was not pleasant.
There was no electric kettle in the property for making tea - instead there was an enamel kettle and an induction hob which was very slow and to boil enough water for 2 mugs of tea or coffee took 30 minutes which is not really acceptable as it wastes so much time especially when you get up in the morning, we asked if they could provide an electric kettle as it was really frustrating and not up to modern hospitality standards but unfortunately the hosts sent a barrage of accusatory messages saying we could not be operating the hob properly which was quite insulting as we had tried all the rings and on max setting but could not get boiling water in the 3 minutes they claimed it took. It really is very stressful when the hosts react so badly so as to upset you as a guest. They did not attend the property again and Andrea had not demonstrated the operation of the hob.
My sheets were cotton but my friend had 100% polyester which were uncomfortable
Would not recommend solo women to stay there as the location is down a very quiet long dark alley and one night we were followed down by a man who stood and stared at us as we fumbled for the keys, quite unnerving!
