Very low standard and dissapointing..

Location was good,

The doors to bedrooms were difficult to open..the toilets were very noisy when flushed.. the stairs carpet is filthy and needs replacing.. last year we were offered a varied menu in tbe evening and breakfast offering included cooked breakfast.. last night there was a very poor choice on menu and breakfast was continental only.. there was no one around to speak too regarding food choice in tbe morning. The whole place looks sad from the outside, decking at back is lethal when wet..

Disappointing after last time.

The room was comfortable and clean nice and warm plus location was good.

No Bath as stated. No Dryer as stated. No cooked breakfast only toast and cereal last time I stayed the breakfast was lovely this was not good. Tv was awful plus bad signal. Had to ask for a kettle. No staff at breakfast time? Shower door broken towel rail bent. A patio light outside our room gleaming through the window with the curtains closed.

New Year's Eve

The location is perfect for exploring the Elan Valley and surrounding area.. Visiting this time to celebrate New Years Eve so spent the days walking and evenings partying.

Slightly disappointed that they only offered continental breakfast. The weather was particularly cold and it would have been nice to have started the days with a cooked breakfast.

The most dissapointing breakfast ever. Unless you like pre packed croissants and instant coffee, I wouldn't bother. We ended up eating breakfast down the street at Tŷ Morgan. The hotel should make the type of breakfast clear before people book.

The bar staff were lovely, we stay in Rhayader about 5 times a year, I like the Elan as a bar but unfortunately not as a hotel and although I will still come in for a drink, I will not stay again.

Good location for Elan Valley, friendly staff, good breakfast but property in need of attention

The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was very good, good quality, well presented

Parking is not easy There needs to be more attention to detail: there was one bulb out in our room and one flickering about to go out.; the furniture in the breakfast room is very tired and not clean, there were a lot of crumbs under the glass top on the table and the paint on the tables needed to repainted. All things that can be easily improved at not much cost but would make a real difference.

Very friendly. Perfectly located for a base for sightseeing. The breakfast was great. Welcoming bar and nice clientele. Have stayed before, but will certainly be back, hopefully, soon.

Room was cold at night and no hot water in the mornings. Not great views from rooms (7&8) but can't have everything. Large enough carpark, but very tight to get into.

There was a bulb missing from one of the bed side lights. The view out of the window was to a corrugated iron clad side of a house. Car parking is difficult as there is no reasonable space and car parking outside the hotel is restricted to 1 hour during the day. Ok to park from 8 pm overnight 'till 8 am

Location was good, in centre of town but room was quiet considering on the Main Street. Clean and reasonably sized room with everything we needed. Staff were very friendly.

Very small bathroom with limited privacy owing to the size and the swing doors. Breakfast was cheap ingredients. Not particularly comfortable mattresses

Short break exploring the Elan Valley.

The location is fabulous, just a short drive from the Elan Valley. Perfect for exploring the local area. The staff are extremely polite and friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the food is fab.

Great central location with private (secluded) parking which is ideal for motorcycles. Wonderful hosts, and spotless, comfortable modern accommodation. Quiet and peaceful with a lovely rear terrace with hillside views and soaring red kites overhead. Superior pub grub and a pint of Guinness to die for.

Bedrooms clean but basic. Bed not comfortable. Breakfast was deep fried. We had evening meal on our first night which wasn't great. I think the fat in the fryer needed changing.

Location in Rhayadar was great. Staff were great and breakfast was made to order.

Unfortunately uncomfortable beds. Every time WC was used the gas in the pipes made a loud noise which must have disturbed everyone else. Needs fixing. Limited parking available.

The location was central, both for the town and a great part of Wales. The food was good pub grub and the staff were friendly. A car park is always nice too when on a motorcycle.

Like a lot of British hotels, the building seem a little tired and run down. However, don't judge a book by the cover. The tired places are often gems. It would be nice too have a bigger selection of low alcohol or alcohol-free beers, especially on tap.

Extremely disappointed given the price paid

Welcoming, friendly staff

Breakfast was extremely poor - no butter no marmalade toaster very very slow. Water for tea in canister was luke warm. Food was awful. Never seen so many flies around the table area. Staff didn’t clear any of the tables once guests left which attracted more flies as I don’t think any guest actually ate the breakfasts that had been ordered. Wasn’t offered a veggie alternative.
