Penralley House B&B

From the very minute we arrived which was a little early, we sat in the beautiful garden and watched the red kites circling overhead which was fantastic. We were greeted at the door by the owner who if ever he gives up hosting, should take up stand up comedy, he was great. The room was beautiful and clean and VERY comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and the lady who cooked it was lovely and friendly. The whole visit was great and we`ll certainly go back again.

Exceptional grade 2 listed building with historical links to the area. Fantastic attention to detail in the decor . Facilities were excellent in regards to comfort and cleanliness. Best prepared breakfast ive been serves. Super friendly and attentive host. Perfect location as a base for so many attractions and outdoor pursuits.

The house itself is gorgeous. The room was front facing which could hear some morning traffic but we are early risers so didn’t affect us. Steve was very welcoming, calling ahead to see if we needed dinner reservations. We booked a local pub on Steve’s recommendation and it was fab! The shower in the room was great, as was the little light above the bathroom mirror, shower gel and shampoo provided, wardrobe space to hang clothes, a tower fan, tv, ample tea and coffee facilities including decent sized mugs and biscuits. The breakfast was lovely with a menu of multiple items to choose from. There were also cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurts, and a lovely Greek yoghurt and fruit pots made fresh each morning too (photos attached). We stayed for two nights and ate at the Triangle inn each evening which was lovely. The town has lots of shops including a pharmacy, news agents, a co-op, pubs and cafes, florists, charity shops and other independent stores. We love our hiking and used Penralley as our stop over for 3 days of walking and visiting local attractions. A wonderful place which if we decide to return to the area we would stay again. Thank you for such a lovely stay and warm welcome. Side note: my husband left two tops in the wardrobe which Steve is very kindly sending back to us!! :)
