Host Steven was very friendly and helpful, made sure we had all we needed, and were comfortable in our room he also gave good local advice on sight seeing and where to go for evening meals. Room had its own entrance, was clean and well equipped and had a small outdoor seating area overlooking garden, . Access to a lovely peaceful garden with a great variety of plants, trees and shrubs. Choice of breakfast options, cooked breakfast was excellent, good ingredients and cooked to order. Very short walk to small town, pubs and restaurant's. Great location for The Elan Valley National Park.

There was nothing to not like about our host, our room or our stay. The only thing maybe worth a mention is that entrance to car park at rear of property is a bit narrow, but was okay for my estate car and a Range Rover that I saw in the car park.

Beautiful house, would definitely recommend.

We recently returned from a visit to penralley house , the location was brilliant being smack in the middle of town, our room and ensuite was very spacious, breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The garden is wonderful with plenty of seating for admiring the garden and surrounding countryside. Steve the owner was a great host with a wealth of local knowledge.

Would of been nice to check in a little earlier.

A most enjoyable and relaxing stay in lovely accommodation in a beautiful part Wales

Steve was an excellent host and looked after us very well. He helped us book the evening meals and his recommendations were spot on. The accommodation was very comfortable and our room was spacious. The breakfast was very appetising especially the fruit and yoghurt starter and there was plenty of choice.

The weather was very hot and not being able to open a window because of traffic noise was a shame. However this did not spoil our overall opinion of the accommodation.

Brilliant breakfast, lovely room and beds, good town location. The host was great, recommended places to eat in town, advice on Elan valley driving etc, really nice guy. Lovely garden to sit in, would highly recommend and will be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Penrally House and the surrounding landscape.

The room was generous size with a large bathroom that had a large bathtub, but no shower. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings were great. I liked the property because it felt comfortable and spacious, with a large garden. Penrally House is near the town center with several restaurants and pubs. The surrounding landscape is beautiful. The owner was very helpful and directed us to the local places of interest, like the Red Kite raptor feedings.

Unfortunately the driveway to the back car park is very tight (inches to spare) and lets out onto a busy road. But it was nice to have a place to park.

Superb place to stay with excellent host and exceptional room.

Steve was an excellent host and very helpful in recommending places to eat and to visit. The Beech room was superb, with the four-poster bed and chaise-longue, it had a fantastic view of the large, tidy garden and the beautiful countryside beyond. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The bedroom and bathroom were both spotless. It was a delight to stay there and I shall definitely return.

We loved the care that had been put in to the restoration of the historic building. The decor was tasteful and carefully done. Steve and his trusty helper were perfect hosts, knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was outstanding.

Wonderful period property, lots of charm. In the heart of Rhayader and only a short drive away from Elan Valley. We were very well looked after. Steve was a wonderful host. We so enjoyed talking with him. He obviously works hard to maintain the high quality of every aspect of this lovely B&B. The room was lovely and comfortable, especially the modern bathroom and its great shower. There’s a lovely lawn and gardens in back of this beautiful old house that guests can enjoy. The walk to town and restaurants and cafes was easy. We did the Elan Valley driving tour and discovered and new, to us, stunning area of Wales. We hope to come back some day.
