Perfect for a night stop to explore the area.

I liked the central location in the town and breakfast in the cafe. Staff were friendly and the room was adequate for what I needed. Parking easy to find on the street and perfect location for exploring Elan Valley. Local chip shop also great!

The bulb in bed side lamp needed changing and remote control batteries (room 7) I was able to hear my neighbours and those below me so it wasn’t quiet but I had read this on other reviews. The mattress wasn’t that comfortable. The Clock outside building is an early alarm!

Fairly comfortable for one night but in this day and age one would expect better.

Stayed here last year and accommodation was very Poor,thought I’d give it a second go hoping for better and to be fair it was a little. Room 8 fairly quiet bathroom had black mold between the tiles in shower heating went of about 4 pm and room by morning was very cold indeed .Bed comfortable enough but look out for the wooden base kept hitting my leg on it .

Perfect location to explore the Elan valley. Certainly comfortable bed. Clean facilities. Lovely breakfast and good value for money.

Not somewhere we would stay again . Overpriced.

Uneven floors table lamp beside bed kept switching itself on an off . Very noisy room over looking road outside,Tea making facilities but no tea bags. Bathroom shower could not regulate temperature . Tap on bath loose and not fitted correctly. Could not have stayed for more than one night I’m afraid . Could do with a good refurb.

The staff were friendly and very helpful

We were on the roadside, with single paned windows, you could hear everything and the road was very busy, even through the night with truckers. The floor boards were so creaky you could hear everything going on above/next door. The plumbing was ancient, you could hear every time someone went to the toilet or used the tap. Horrible beds - springs sticking out and concave in the middle, I would have slept on the floor if the armchairs had removable cushions. The room (and the towels) weren't very clean at all. The shower was so loud, but at least it was hot. Emergency lighting was very bright, if I had been able to sleep through people getting up in the night, that would have stopped me.

Room was grubby, dusty cushions on the bed were grubby, dusty bedside table, skirting boards were dirty, shower mat tucked behind toilet was at one time clear plastic, now a very grubby stained brown. Bed was uncomfortable, all in all poor quality. Had to request towels. On the positive side….good tea milk coffee tray We stayed in room 7

Location.

Noise from road outside very noisy . Pub noise until early hours in the morning . Road traffic all night 🙁Room dirty Bed uncomfortable. Pillows lumpy . No staff around at all in the evening . Night entry is very dangerously close to the road

Nothing much

Noisy you could hear footsteps, talking and TV from room above. The room was dusty, badly lit and furniture and carpets were worn out. A down at heel hotel in need of renovation!

Cute place just not able to sleep!!!!

Was extremely cosy and warm..

Unfortunately it was so noisy from the road and also other rooms as the walls so thin.. the drainage pumps were really loud so no good when your neighbour showered at 6am. The radio from the underneath bistro from 8 am just added to the disappointment in our stay. Such a cute and cosy place tho.

The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome, didn't have issues finding the hotel or during check in

Due to the properties location we had a clock tower bell just outside of our window, the bell "chimed" every hour and traffic was constant as well as loud noise from locals, we stayed on a sunday night. This led me to have little to no sleep...disappointing

Carpet was all scuffed up on joins, no vanity table. We did find a mirror in the wardrobe, but no where to put it for doing hair and make up.

Disappointed

The room decor and bathroom was a bit shabby. The bed was poor. Bedding was poor. with the tooms facing the main junction it was very noisy with constant HGV noise. Not a very good night's sleep.

Furniture and fittings dated. Either not cleaned prior to us visiting or not cleaned adequately. Lots of traffic and party noise late into the night. Only there door one night so not worth complaining to staff.

NICE STAY AND LOVELY LARGE ROOM

FRIENDLY STAFF, THE ROOM WAS REALLY LARGE BUT A BIT SHABBY IN PLACES (THE LEG ON THE SOFA WAS LOOSE AND BENT AND COULD HAVE DONE WITH A GOOD CLEAN) BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS VERY CLEAN. GOOD LOCATION IN THE CENTRE OF RHAYADER. TEA AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES. THE BED WAS A BIT UNCOMFORTABLE BUT OK FOR A COUPLE OF NIGHTS. THERE WAS NOISE FROM THE EXTRACTOR COMING FROM THE KITCHEN.

BREAKFAST WASN'T INCLUDED WHICH WE THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE PRICE WE PAID, BUT IT WAS CARNIVAL WEEKEND SO THE PRICES DO SEEM TO BE HIGHER THAN NORMAL

Very lovely layout to property and facilities were great too, the location was central to the town with many lovely places nearby. The bed and sofa were comfy and surrounding areas lovely!

Good location but noisy road. Food was amazing in the Crown Pub, only issue I had was a noisy Asian family with kids screaming and shouting.

Toilet seat was loose, nearly caught my bits, draws had crumbs in, terrible mattress and needs blackout curtains as streetlights are a nitemare.

Lovely location, brilliant staff but bathrooms need an upgrade.

The staff were fantastic and very very helpful and friendly. In fact they were exceptional. The location is superb and the affiliation with local pubs and restaurants owned by the hotel meant there was a lot of choice for things to do and for entertainment.

The rooms that I and fellow guests stayed in were a bit tired after much use. The bathrooms need an upgrade to get them back into shape and for ease of use.
