What a find !! If you want a sterile premier inn this is not the place for you but if you want an old welsh country pub with atmosphere and quirks then this place is for you!. We stayed for 2 nights with our dalmatian and couldn't have been made more welcome.!! From the moment we arrived Becky and Emma couldn't do enough to help - bar drinks excellent and very well priced - lovely beer garden opening onto a park area and river walks so perfect for the dog :-) Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable - bathroom also clean and tidy - breakfast superb with a sausage for the dog as well (Thanks Matt) We will be back !!! Lovely welcoming pub. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were wonderful; helpful and welcoming. The food was excellent thanks to the fabulous chefs, one of whom was new to the job, but nothing was too much trouble for anyone.

Initially I was disappointed that no breakfasts were available but this was not a problem thanks to recommendation of a local café by the staff. I wasn't keen on the shared bathroom but, as the other rooms were unoccupied after the first night, this was not an issue.

Landlady was really helpful despite it being a very busy weekend (Carnaval) so they had initially said the kitchen was closed - did manage to rustle up burger and chips - although we really appreciated the food, it wasn't the greatest burger - but I will put that down to how busy the pub was so probably not to the pubs usual standard. Room was clean and family room has ensuite - not sure that all the other rooms do
