Ideal positioning within the town centre, very friendly hosts and accommodation ticked all the collective boxes. Nice and warm inside, as we were staying during the November time of year. Parking was spacious and directly outside the primary access point. Breakfast was a good start to the day, and served very quickly, with choices available.

Nice friendly B&B

We have stayed here 3 times this year because it ticks all of our boxes. There is parking for motorcycles and secure lock up for mountain bikes. The staff are very friendly and the place has a nice feel about it. The location is great for walking from the door and for the town. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. It is lovely to see so many red kites flying over head.

Amazing hospitality and delicious breakfast

Paul is amazing host and he treated us as his own family member. We had reached a bit late due to bad weather and road closures along our way. Paul made sure that he welcomed us with a bright smile at 11:45 PM. The room is excellent and the property is quite close to many restaurants and all the dams of Elan valley. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly customized to what we wanted. We would definitely come back to this place again.

Didn’t stay. Left the property and came home

Room looked old and outdated, and the beds felt damp. Host didn’t introduce himself and we felt more like a hindrance than guests.

Great 2 nights stay, the small busy town only a short walk away. Spotless bedroom.

Paul the host was very friendly. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. The access to the garden was very handy, as my small show dog could access it. Lovely breakfast.

Parking was an issue, very tight to park my van. The access door to the garden was extremely hard to open.

Overall good but seriously in need of new mattresses. If we had had a good night's sleep, it would.

Breakfast really good with nice eating area. Location good. Friendly host. Rooms clean.

All beds uncomfortable and in need of new mattresses. Main bed had several layers of thin protectors which were useless. Bathroom accessed only via other bedroom. Not ideal for 2 couples but OK for parents with young kids.

After a fantastic weekend of watching the Rali Ceredigion in cwn Elan, I had a really great stay here at The Horseshoe Guest House, Paul was very polite and friendly and made me feel very welcome, breakfast was lovely and the room was very cosy, it also in a very convenient place as shops and restaurants/pubs are no more than 5 mins walk away, would definitely stay here again

Great Breakfast. Central to town but on quiet road, no trafic noise. Nice pub for drinks and meals just up the road.

If you book 'The Loft' rooms be aware there is a steep narrow stair for access.

Mid Wales Stay

Breakfast good. Good amount and enjoyable. Location quiet and very convenient. Room adequate size for our needs. Slight problem with sockets not working untill circuit breaker reset by host. With everyone using smart phones, digital camera's and sat nav's these day's a few electrical sockets are a definite essential. Plenty of parking and property is bike friendly without a doubt. We were in a car and secure off street parking was appreciated.

No host present at property, had to phone and wait for response regarding tripped power. Not a major issue though and cannot expect host to be present at all times.

A lovely place to stay, will definitely return!

Cosy, clean and comfortable, lovely quaint room. We had the shared bathroom which over 2 nights we never had to share. With an early start each day we appreciated the tasty bacon butties made for our departure!! Had an amazing steak dinner at the friendly Eagle Inn just up the road. A really enjoyable stay which our little dog also enjoyed.. at no extra charge! Thankyou 😊

Pleasant stay in very warm Rhayader.

Great room for spreading out motorcycle kit. Room not noisy during the night. Lovely tea tray. Wonderful cool shower after a very warm day in the saddle. Grand breakfast in the morning, freshly cooked. Also thanks to Paul for tip on bike route through midWales. Missus enjoyed it and took lots of pics. There's also a pleasant riverside walk along the Wye river.

Instead of a duvet please leave a sheet to cover up at night. It's all you need in this very warm summer. Kept waking up as too hot. Also on payment. Fine with cash but maybe message folk prior to arrival so they can get cash out ready. We trawled round in the morning and finally found a working, open ATM. Don't really use cash since Covid got us used to cards

The best

Blown away by the friendly owner. Room was spacious and clean. Strong spotless shower, hot water. Quiet too. Breakfast was 10/10 too. Our motorcycles were housed in a covered wooden parking lot 5 metres from the Hotel. 5 mins walk to pubs and restaurants.

Cycle touring accomodation overnight.

Paul the owner and host was very helpful and welcoming. I was cycling through rhayder and they provided me with a secure location to store my bike and a hose to wash it down. He was very knowledgable of the area and gave me tips and reccomended places to eat and drink and also local attractions and cycling routes. Perfect place for a cyclist to roll upto on the vast ammount of routes in the area.. There were lots of places to eat and pick up supplies . There is also a bike shop if you need anything. Pauls breakfast was mint and got me into aberyswyth with no stops. Thanks Paul

In heart of town centre and biker friendly

Close to town centre, with private parking. On arrival, owner made room for us to park our motorcycles undercover. Helpful host gave good advice on local eateries and best pubs. (Rhayder used to boast around 14-15 pubs which is crazy for a small town!) Breakfast was good quality and plentiful. I have stayed in Rhyader many times so best compliment I can give us that I would aim to book the Horseshoe for my next visit.

Bathroom in disabled access twin room was a little dated but plenty of hot water and beds comfy so not really a negative just mentioned for feedback.

Enjoyed stay and as walkers we would go back again

Room was pleasant and a good size, location was very good for walking and getting to local beauty spots, good breakfast host was pleasant and helpful with advice on places to go.

Beds felt a little worn out and could do with being renewed. Not many local eating places open on Monday and Tuesdays.
