Hotel de Piedra

Based on my stay, this seems to be hands down the best location and the best hotel you could find in Peńa de Bernal! We were staying over just for a night, so happy with the lower level rooms with the restaurant and bar right outside of the room, but if you have a bigger group/ don’t mind spending a bit extra, the chalets with cute little balconies with access to the pool, hot tub and restaurants within the property are totally worth trying out. They provide free parking with valet service, so you don’t have to worry much about parking, given the narrow cobble roads and large crowds gathering to the mountain. You could access the public area through the hotel which would otherwise be a bit of a hike. If you need to get around, they have three wheel er/taxi services that you could get right outside of the hotel. The walk to the downtown is about 10-12 minutes and you could find a vibrant little town with a lot of energy and great Mexican food. The view from the hotel is magnificent, it almost feels like you are living at the base of the Peña de Bernal! The hotel food menu is pretty decent, and decently priced.

If you are booking a lower level room, the noise outside might be a problem. But you’d rather be outside roaming about this beautiful place anyway! I didn’t mind the stairs to get around to the beautiful little areas they’ve created for relaxing with a view of the Peña, but if you have accessibility issues, please plan in advance. This might not be the place.

Location only!

No tea/coffee in room. the refrigerator was not in working condition. when we asked to fix it. the repair man came and said it is fixed…however it was still not working! the staff did not speak English.
