the big TV and wifi worked well

The bathroom smelled very bad, and whenever you would open the bathroom door the whole room would smell. You had to walk a lot (A LOT) of stairs to get to the room.

Very nice little room with a great view!

Very nice little room! We were traveling as a group of 6 & this was the perfect spot. The building consists of 6 guest rooms, so our group had half of the building. The rooftop was a really good hangout spot with an awesome view. The rooms are so nice & clean with a great little bathroom. All of the steps leading to it were really only a problem when we were taking our luggage up, lol. I would definitely book this place again!

Bad service, it is not for older people or sick or small kids, you need to go up 300 stairs with your suitcases its not human and ruined all our vacation

This is a nice, quiet, clean, place to stay and the.ires are extraordinar!

The views were extraordinary, and the rooms were very nice and clean. It was a difficult to get to but worth the climb up all the steps if you are able.

A wonderful stay - recommend

We LOVED our stay in Monterosso! The area is stunning, our room was open and clean. We also enjoyed sitting on the rooftop that looks over the ocean and town. Bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable! Of course be aware of the stairs up to the rooms, we had backpacks which was ok and you get used to the walks up and down.

Whilst it isn’t the property’s fault, I was scammed via the chat function on the booking.com app with this property months prior to arriving. AGAIN it isn’t the property’s fault, it is something to be aware of if it’s a common issue with this property.

Great but damn those stairs

The view from the rooftop was amazing. The space was a nice one room and one bathroom facility, and to my surprise we had cleaners come everyday. Right in the center of Monterosso, a short walk from the old town and new town.

You must be ready to walk about 100 steps up a hill to reach your room, so pack light or lose a wheel on your suitcase as I did haha.

A beautiful location overshadowed by poor organisation

Monterosso al Mare is absolutely stunning—its dramatic cliffs, vibrant streets, and beautiful beaches made our visit to Cinque Terre truly memorable. The property’s location on a hill offers impressive views and a quiet atmosphere, away from the busier parts of town. Despite the challenges we faced with the accommodation, we still managed to enjoy our stay overall thanks to the charm of the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, our experience with the accommodation itself was filled with unexpected and frustrating issues. The self check-in process failed as the key was missing, which left us stranded after climbing many stairs with our luggage. After several back-and-forth messages, we were instructed to retrieve a spare key from a cleaner's storage area, where I was badly bitten by mosquitoes—and the key led us to the wrong room, which was already occupied. When we finally accessed the correct “garden room,” it was dark, much smaller, and significantly less appealing than the sea view apartment. The following day, despite our explicit request not to have our room cleaned, staff entered anyway and left the room unlocked all day with the key left in the door, raising serious safety concerns. On top of that, the lack of soundproofing made it difficult to rest at night. While the property itself isn’t inherently bad, the disorganized administration, lack of attention to guest requests, and safety issues were unacceptable and need serious improvement.

Location is amazing, lovely views from the room and a cute deck perfect for some downtime,

Everything was great- but do be aware there are a lot of steps to get there. If you have mobility issues or struggle walking up stairs this could be tough for you, especially if you have heavy suitcases. We had backpacks so it was fine

Excellent place to stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Location was great as it was accessed from the Main Street right by the beach and only a few minutes walk from the train station. I didn’t give full marks because it was 125 steps up from the street to the room. For us it was fine because we’re healthy and fit and only do the stairs a few times each day. We had dinner at both of the restaurants right outside the door and they were both excellent as was the place where we ate in the old town. Registration contact was very helpful and responsive. Cleaning staff was very thorough, even refilling the espresso machine with water each day!

Nothing not to like. Steps as mentioned were an extra opportunity for practice for the local hikes.

Nice view in the morning. They made our bed and changed towels every day. Good bed, good shower.

It was not easily accessible to go during the day due to its location being high up. The room itself was tiny and basic There was nowhere to hang clothes to dry in the balcony.

Nice view but you work to get it!!

Beautiful views and very clean apartment with a lovely shower! Nice balcony with two chairs and a small table and rooftop tce with deck chairs and an even better view!

Everyone has already mentioned the steps, they are plentiful and a little uneven so not great for anyone with mobility issues, heavy luggage or children! Unfortunately the cleaner kept leaving our balcony door open despite repeated requests not to which led to geckos in our room... And luggage! Left a very polite note again asking for it to be left closed, and received a rude note in return about sand in the shower... For a beachside apartment!!! Unfortunate as the other staff we encountered we were lovely especially Linda!

Lovely.

The location is amazing and the view from the roof top is priceless.

The stair, although we managed. They are flat wide stairs so not difficult but long. I didn’t like that the coffee machine was glitching and the fact was ignored by the staff. I also didn’t like that there was a glitch in the booking. We were missing a third bed for my 14 y/o son to whom the property manager bought it’s a baby. The only solution they offered was to go to a different unit, an apartment with no view. We stayed and managed but I was hoping for a bed or a mattress to be provided.

Very good location and clean, new rooms.

The location is perfect: right in front of the beach and with plenty of restaurants around the area, and a few minutes walk by the sea to the center of the village. The room is well equiped, new and very clean. The bed was small but comfy, and it was fresh even without the AC. The agency that takes care of the property also arranged reservations for us at the lido next to the hotel, which was very comfortable.

We had read that the access was a little steep, but it is not just a little, it is quite a walk with many stairs which are not totally well maintained and not illuminated in the night. If you travel with heavy luggages or if you have any mobility problems, it will be quite a challenge to get to the rooms. Additionally, we could hear everything from the rooms above and next to us. Specially the room next to us, since it is connected by a door that is simply locked, but you can even see the light switched on or off.

Nice place to stay

Nice room, good balcony and bathroom. Nice with a mini fridge. Clean and tidy, easy check in!

The bed was a bit hard. The steps up to the room was long after a day walking. The fridge could have Ben cooler. And there was missing hot water in the shower one of the days. Rest was fine.

Room was clean. Close to train station and the beach & restaurants. Shower was nice. Management company was very responsive and provided great directions (with photos) - without these, the place would have been impossible to find.

I had read that there were a few steps. There were 128 (!) steps over a very steep incline. I am 71, and my spouse is 68. We each had a small backpack and a suitcase weighing about 35 pounds each. It was tough getting them up there. Also, we decided to go down and then back up once a dy because frankly, the steps are a killer. Not a fault of the property or the management, but be very aware of this.

Exceeded our expectations, very good sleep

This accomodation really exceeded our expectations. Since the house is directly above the portal of the train tunnel, we expected that we wouldn't sleep well. I booked the room which is not facing the train directly but only sidewards. And at least in this room, it was surprisingly rather quiet! The house has probably good noise isolation and in addition the accomodation provides ear plugs, which I however did not even have to use. The room itself is nice and the little terrace probably is nice to use in the summer. Also, the bed has one single mattress but unlike in other accomodations, here it is good quality and you do NOT feel every movement of your companion. We had a really good sleep even though we have a rather sensitive sleep. Self check-in is easy and the host is really proactively helpful via the chat function. Thank you Barbara!
