About this house rental
La Falconeria is an old farm (1750), situated 71 Strada Falconiera after the name of the farm. It is three kilometers away from Acquapendente, a stage on Via Francigena.
Acquapendente is situated on Via Cassa, It is a lively and welcoming village of 5000 inhabitants, with a weekly market on Fridays and numerous shops selling local products. During the summer all sorts of fêtes take place in the surroundings.
On the ground floor the house has a large 60 m² living room, with a table for 12 persons as well as a sitting area in front of the fireplace. Next to this room, a kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed and a shower room.
On the first floor, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room plus a large 40 m² living room can be used. Two children’s beds can complete the sleeping facilities together with two partly redecorated bedrooms.
La Falconiera is situated close to three Nature Reserves: Monte Rufeno, Monte Amiata and Bolsena Lake. In this area one can find the most important art cities in Central Italy: for instance, the house is 30 km away from Orvieto (Umbria, railway station), 50 km from Pienza, Montepulciano and the Etruscan necropolis of Sovana; an hour away from Siena and the sea coast (Argentario).
In the garden, pine trees, cedar trees and olive trees are typical of this part of Latium which adjoins Tuscany and Umbria.
For those fond of sports, let us mention the existence of tennis courts in Acquapendente. It is also possible to do nice walks as well as cycling tours or horse riding (there is a small riding club nearby). Moreover sailing is available on Bolsena Lake. To relax San Casciano thermal baths are only 18 km away.
The farm was acquired in 1974 by the grandparents and was gradually renovated while respecting the old structure. It is still used by the family in summer and at the time of the olive harvest in autumn.

Abbiamo soggiornato alla falconiera nel Week end di Pasqua con un gruppo di amici, tutte coppie con bambini. La location e' davvero bella, il casale ha il fascino delle case di una volta, ma al contempo la cucina e i bagni sono nuovi. Il salone e' molto grande e ha un bellissimo camino. Lo spazio esterno ,molto curato e attrezzato, permette agli adulti e ai bambini di passare delle giornate di relax e divertimento. Le persone che si occupano dell' accoglienza e della manutenzione sono molto disponibili e gentili. Tutto il nostro gruppo e' rimasto soddisfatto...sicuramente torneremo.

Ho deciso di trascorrere il mio 30° compleanno alla Falconiera. Cercavo un casale di campagna non troppo distante da Roma, avevo la necessità di molteplici posti letto, molto spazio all'aperto ma soprattutto al chiuso (viste le temperature di gennaio) che mi permettesse di organizzare un bel pranzo con tutti i miei amici e familiari venuti a posta ad Acquapendente per l'occasione. La Falconiera si è rivelata le scelta GIUSTA!
Le camere da letto, anche se non tutte dotate di riscaldamento, erano attrezzate con le stufe, nonostante la poca pressione dell'acqua i bagni sono nuovi.
La cucina è decisamente ben attrezzata e adatta alla preparazione di pranzi e/o cene per più ospiti.
La zona della casa che abbiamo vissuto con più piacere è stato il leaving con il grande camino (provvisto di sufficiente legna) che ci ha riscaldato nel freddo weekend invernale e davanti al quale abbiamo vissuto in un atmosfera veramente caratteristica.
La nostra esperienza alla Falconiera è da ritenersi nel complesso molto soddisfacente soprattutto per merito delle persone che si occupano dell'assistenza: la signorina Martina molto disponibile e cordiale e la sig.ra Loretta e il sig. Nevio si sono resi disponibilissimi di fronte ad ogni necessità e evenienza...Mitici!!!
