Loved it there and would go again

Quiet hotel with a good restaurant that worked perfectly as a base to work, read and eat very well for a couple days before going up to a remote mountain hut. Michel and Katia, their mother and the staff keep the place in top shape and running like clockwork - Switzerland is just over the mountains here, and the vibe is Swiss efficiency with Italian friendliness. Local people also frequent the place for dinner, and will happily chat with guests (better if you know Italian though!) Special points for the really good crostata cakes and Michel's Maltese dog, Vox, who hangs out in the hotel and is a curious, funny fellow.

The TV in the room was very small but in fairness, I didn't turn it on once. There are a lot better things to see and do in Lanzada and Valmalenco than watching tv.
