Comfortable bed, quiet location

From the reviews and pictures I was expecting better. The staff that checked me in and served dinner were very friendly and accommodating but that was the highlight The shower in my room leaked badly, and in the morning there was no hot water available in the room. Evening meal was pleasant enough but not exceptional ( as a number of reviews stated) However, at breakfast I arrived to find the restaurant area full and no available seating. No staff to assist, waited 10 minutes then sat in the bar. The breakfast was average, a lot of the items not replenished ( this was 1 hour in to breakfast service). Eventually someone asked if I wanted coffee and eggs. I think they were clearly understaffed and struggling to cope At check out, the woman on the reception was unfriendly, and was obviously just keen for me to be dealt with and gone. I’m hoping she was just having a bad morning! On my three week trip of various European countries this was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive hotel I stayed in, but is near the bottom in terms of value for money.

Wonderful hotel for short and long visit.

Wallner hote is simply the best. The Owners and Staff are always courtous, professional, and helpful. The local Carinthian cuisine is simply delicious. I highly recommend for a short or long stay.

excellent stopping off place on border of Austria and Italy

A really high class hotel and restaurant. we checked in for 1 night on our way south on the Alp-Adria cycle route. it was the best hotel we have stayed in, very comfortable, delicious dinner and excellent choice for breakfast, with lovely friendly staff. we were sad to leave.

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Very clean and nicely decorated rooms, modern ambiente, amazing food and best breakfast on our trip so far. The breakfast topped everything: large selection of fresh, local food, fresh pressed juices, breads, cheeses, deli, yoghurts, fruits, eggs made to your liking - just amazing. Highly recommended.
