Met expectations once again. Friendly and very hospitable staff.

Our 2nd stay here. By chance, we had exactly the same room as last time. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well presented. At our time of travel the restaurant was not open but staff assisted with alternative restaurant bookings once again.

Absolutely recommended.

This hotel was a complete delight. From check in to check out, pool to food and the complete hotel experience/ambience makes you smile. Also, a visit to Le Clos Lucé a few minutes away in Amboise is a 'must'. Great experience and sums up why I love the Loire Valley.

Experience not in line with the price per night. Decor and some of the service misses the mark

The location and view are lovely, overlooking gardens and a nice pool area. Staff is friendly

Could be a wonderful Chateau Hotel but misses the mark. The decor looks tired and very hodge podge, mid 2000s modern bathrooms but faux historic decor elsewhere (poor quality fabric...velours), a 1980s rug in the corridors. It could all be decorated with real antiques from a brocante and would look more authentic. Cleaning staff left their cleaning buckets and products out all throughout the hallways in the morning which takes away from the experience.

Expensive and in need of refurbishment

The Chateaux is overdue a renovation. The much vaunted resteraunt was disappointing to say the least, with too much effort on the ‘frills’ like serving water every 5 mins but serving our own wine having asked 3 times and the food was heavy on presentation but light on flavour - it also took nearly 2 hrs to get to the main course.

Lovely property away from the town

The history of the property and the chateau itself were really lovely. We liked our room and the furnishings.

The shower wasn’t usable. The location was far from town (but we knew this going in).

A very comfortable hotel. Excellent service throughout our stay. Great location to explore Amboise area. Swimming pool area extremely pleasant area to relax after a day of visiting chateaux. Be aware that restaurant is not open Sunday evening to Wednesday - I can’t comment on restaurant therefore as this coincided with visit.

Beautiful chateau with an excellent restaurant.

Excellent restaurant, friendly and attentive staff, comfortable beds, very clean. Excellent back massage down by the heated pool.

The flood lights just outside our room cannot be turned off manually. They go off automatically at 1am so at night our door and windows were full of insects attracted by the light. Therefore we could not sleep with the window open. Luckily someone came over at 11pm to show us how to put on the A/C. Other than that, our stay was lovely.

Attractive Chateau retaining its character. Very helpful and engaging staff. Comfortable rooms in period style. Excellent dinner in the restaurant.

While breakfast was very adequate I think for a hotel of this stature it could have been better with a bit more choice and local products. Home made yoghurt and jam for example.

The building, gardens and location was just Beautiful. The swimming pool outdoors and warm was magical and the interior decor and well proportioned rooms were just lovely. I can’t fault it. They also had car charger and a bike store. Staff were very helpful

More shabby than chic.

Staff were friendly. Location is good. Bed is comfy.

Dated stuffy rooms, more shabby than chic - I understand the need to keep it in a particular traditional style, but everything felt old and worn down and needed a revamp. The rooms look like they are out of the '80s in a Fawty Towers episode. Very underwhelming but expensive breakfast (a bit of ham and cheese and a mini croissant). Inconvenient bathroom (high bath, hard to get out of). Not much sound proofing - can hear the other rooms and corridor very easily. No room service or bar options (so if you don't fancy the Michelin restaurant, you have to go into town). Patchy internet. The whole place is very overpriced. We stayed at some Relais et Chateauxs that are the same price and much better value.

Wish we stayed longer!

Beautiful old chateau, great atmosphere, spacious and well maintained rooms with luxurious beds. Warm and welcoming staff, heated pool and gorgeous grounds. 3km to Amboise center (less than 5min by car) but wonderfully quite and relaxing. Highly recommend if you plan to visit Amboise.

Would be helpful to have more outlets in the room to charge phones/laptops. A shower curtain would be great as well.

He place was dirty and in bad condition. The picture on booking.com of the hotel looked very different when you got there

The older man in reception was very rude and unhelpful. He seemed to dislike British people

A fantastic, peaceful and regenerative stopover in beautiful Amboise

We stop here often and the property is back on great form. The welcome was very warm and the staff were very helpful, and accommodating. It felt as though some improvements had been made over the winter (our bathroom felt newly done, for example) and it really showed.
