Landhaus Steinbrech

The location and views from the property are amazing. Grainau is a really nice village and Eibsee is a short journey away by foot, train or bus.

Unfortunately our experience with one of the staff, Christine, was not good. We had communicated several times that we would arrive a day later than planned, even a month before. But when the day came, she was quite passive aggressive in her message asking why we hadn’t filled in a registration form, once we replied back, she never responded again. Secondly, in the confirmation message from Christine when we booked the property, it mentioned only 8 parking spaces available and if they’re full, use the street, no problem. But once we were there, she told us to move the car as someone has reserved the parking spot, we were confused as reservation was not mentioned to us before (it also costs 5€ a day). She again, passive aggressively said she has already told us in an email (we checked and this was not the case, no mention of a reservation possibility at all). Lastly, a code is needed to enter the building at night as the door is shut for safety, for some reason, our code did not work and we were stuck outside for 30 minutes at 10pm, no response from Christine, until the next morning, when she simply copy and pasted her original message without any concern for us. We were let in by other guests already in the landhaus. This may be a one off, but it felt like we were being punished or had done something to annoy her, which is not a nice feeling when you are staying somewhere for your holiday. Other reviews seem positive so I would hope this doesn’t happen often or ever to anyone else. Otherwise a great stay, it has to be said, other staff we met were very friendly, helpful and nice.

The parking spot is a bit small, but manageable if you bring small to compact car. Big cars might be a bit harder

The internet connection seemed unstable; however, the property manager helped resolve the issue.

The properties location is just perfect! Close to Zugspitze, Partnachklamm, Hiking Trails - everything is just wonderful. Super peaceful and lovely.

The room was absolutely fantastic .We had tonnes of space. A gorgeous , fully equiped cooking area which really helped us to feel at home. Our view was spectacular. The beds were heavenly. The whole place was perfectly clean and everything available to feel at home eg fridge, crockery ,clothes horse, wardrobe space ,lounge furniture etc. It was a small walk to Grainau -gorgeous little tiny town iwith a great bakery ,restaurant + info office. It was the best place to stay to visit the gorges,the mountains, shoping in GaPa, visiting castles, ,Eibsee etc etc. (And aldi was a v small drive away.)

We couldn't figure out the parking situation. We met no staff so we couldn't ask We met a nice gentleman one day that told us to park the grass but he had no English so we couldmt ask him what the situation was.. Other cars had marked spaces but we didn't know there was a parking plan??? We just put our car anywhere safely and out of the way but always felt like we were in someone's place yet we had no other place to go and no information.

Very convenient but quiet location Nice balcony Comfortable sofas and bed, but tall people be carefull, bed is in alcove with max height of about 5 feet Bath needs some renovating, but the apartment was very clean Staff responds fast to messages

Warm water for the shower is not stable all the time
