Great stay outside of the busy area with a great spa!

Loved the spa, breakfast was a typical Bavarian breakfast but made eggs and bacon to order (if wanted/requested) and the staff was very accommodating.

The restaurant’s dinner quality was so-so for the pricing. It did the job after the long journey, but compared to outside restaurants it left much to be desired.

Beautiful view of the mountains, the green space was very nice

The carpet and furnishings in the room were old and for the price they charge should be updated. Most of the staff are very gracious and very nice. Sadly the woman at the checkout with dyed reddish hair and tattoos was unbelievable nasty. I asked about the charges that I was being asked to pay for and she threatened to call the police!! I had prepaid the room for 4 days. This was just the charges for city taxes which I thought were covered according to booking. I of course paid the fees, but not without this insult and headache. Yup I am a Black person. This lady should be fired, she had a very poor attitude and was so trashy!

Gorgeous view and good food, but wouldn’t recommend for families with flexible needs and boisterous children.

The view was outstanding! And loved the amenities for the kids and whole family. Great spa area and pool and places to play. Breakfast was great. Free parking was nice.

Dining area and lots of rooms could be pretty stuffy. Very old furniture. The pool closes at 8. Very strict on dinner requiring reservations and also ended fairly early, at 8. Overall not super flexible. It was also pretty expensive.

Great staff, great location

This is a lovely place right at the bottom of the alps. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. Both the receptionists and the breakfast staff was excellent. I will come back

The hotel is extremely old and has not done any renovations! Breakfast very simple, when you are in Bavaria you expect some traditional Bavarian food like Brezel or white sausage!

Fantastic location! The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed very much sauna and pool after a hiking day. The breakfast was great! What I really was amazed about is finding in our room a little bucket with towels and treats for our dog! Such a lovely gesture!

Exceptional

We had booked our stay three hours upon arrival and I had not expected to have the exceptional service as we had. We had stayed here due to short notice of a family members health issue and was close to the clinic. My child had a smile on her face the entire time as she enjoyed the hot chocolate that came in a kettle; the swimming pool; the use of the sled and a Teddybear souvenir from the hotel that helped bring my child comfort for the upcoming days in the clinic. We definitely will be coming back to stay. Thank you.

Very good

I loved the decor and style. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The proximity of the place to the town was great. I enjoyed the amenities. The food variety was very good. Having a garden and play area was also terrific.

Bed comfort was not good. The sauna and spa area was minimal in size and offerings in comparison to other spas I’ve been to. The pool needed a sign up sheet.

Homely gem

A little friendly gem with homely atmosphere in Grainau. Traditional bayern style. Fantastic breakfast and in walking distance to the zugspitze train and public transport to trails, eibsee and Garmisch. Would love to comeback and spend a couple of days.

Pleasant visit, but a bit expensive for the quality of the hotel.

Breakfast was delicious and healthy, with a large variety of food choices. The location was good for hiking and cycling. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was quite old and in need of a bit of a renovation. The photos on the website must have been taken a long time ago. There was no air conditioning so we opened the windows for fresh cool air, but people were regularly smoking on neighbouring balconies.

Amazing view on the mountains. Friendly people. Just 13 minutes with a car to Eibsee. Perfect place to walk also and perfect place to go to this hotel with kids. Nice place. I'll back there soon.

Schönes familiäres Hotel in guter Lage.

Gute Lage, wenige Minuten vom Bahnhof der Zugspitzbahn. Sehr freundliches Personal. Großes schönes Schwimmbad mit großen Panoramafenster mit Bergblick. Das (Einzelzimmer) war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Ein wenig „altbacken“. Großer Balkon. Das Zimmer meiner Tochter war sehr großzügig und sehr schön (anderer Hotel-Flügel). Nette Kleinigkeiten wie Info-Zettel beim Frühstück über touristische Angebote des Tages in der Umgebung. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und werden wiederkommen.

Es gab nichts zu beanstanden.

Alpenretro aber sehr gute Preis-Leistung

Schwimmbad und Sauna bieten die Komplettierung des Sport-Programms, sehr gute Küche in fairem Preisniveau, bekam ein upgrade in ein großes DZ, netter Garten mit Bergblick

etwas altmodischer Charme mit den kleinen Umständlichkeiten, die gestern Standard waren (Schlüssel, viele Lichtschalter), nicht das große Ambiente und 10 min Fußweg zur Zugspitzbahn, von wo stündlich das Bähnle zu den Liftstationen startet.

Der Früstücksraum sah ordentlich aus. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Die Zimmereinrichtung ist veraltet, überall liegen alte Teppichböden, das Bad ist veraltet, wenig Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet, die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig. Bei der Zahlung der Kurtaxe mit EC-Karte werden zusätlich 2,- € verlangt.
