The service here is absolutely second to none, incredibly friendly staff that go above and beyond, the rooms are lovely and the location to the surf is incredible. The restaurant is lovely and we were given a complementary hour balinese massage which was great.

An absolutely amazing place to stay in West Bali.

As every other review has said, run, don't walk to Umadewi Surf Retreat! Beautiful grounds, amazing views, huge bed, wonderful staff. Would definitely try to book an oceanside room next time where we could sit and watch the waves forever. A couple of suggestions would be to supply more pool loungers, and to have a water refill station so guests could refill their water as required.

Another excellent stay at Umadewi !

We are returning customers.. we have enjoyed the amazing view, the great location and excellent service at Umadewi numerous times. It doesn’t disappoint. The staff go out of their way to know you, use your name and to try in every way to please you so you have a pleasant stay. The hotel manager went out of his way to provide an excellent service and communication when there was a technical problem at the room. Other staff are also very helpful and make the stay enjoyable ! The rooms are well appointed and spacious.

A slice of heaven!

Umadewi is an absolutely stunning space; it feels like a slice of heaven being right on the water, watching the waves. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made everything to joyful. Highly recommend the on site spa and Daily Bliss Yoga (located a 2 minute walk away!)

Fantastic stay at Umadewi.

We recently stayed at this beautiful property right on the water in Medewi and had a fantastic experience. We booked two rooms, one oceanfront, which offered breathtaking views and was truly exceptional, and another in the rear block. While the latter was a bit darker, it was still very clean and comfortable. I’d initially been concerned about privacy in the oceanfront room after reading some reviews, but it turned out to be a non-issue. Only guests have access to that area, and it felt perfectly private throughout our stay. The swimming pool was great, large, deep, and well-designed with a shallow section for children. Even though the hotel was fully booked, we never struggled to find a sun bed, and there was plenty of shade for those wanting to stay out of the sun. We also really enjoyed the on-site restaurant and spa, both of which are set in beautiful spaces. The massage was so good that I booked a second, longer session. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with warm, attentive staff and a stylish, relaxing atmosphere. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

Laundry prices are very high. Bath towels etc need to be updated.

the room was a bit musty smelling. the sliding door to the outside area often didn’t work and was hard to fix. the positioning of the room’s outdoor area also was a bit awkward when we came back from surfing and had to track our wet and sandy stuff thru the room to get outside to dry our stuff.

Couples surf trip.

Location is unbeatable! My husband and I stayed in an ocean front room and hearing the waves and waking up to the view of the ocean everyday was bliss. We were there for surfing so it was the perfect location, with surfboard racks outside the room. Security guard organised scooter hire for us for the week. Food in the restaurant was outstanding and all reasonably priced. Other places are accessible by walking or short rides on scooters. All facilities are great, we both enjoyed massages at the spa, the ladies there are very professional and friendly. Would absolutely stay here again!

It must be just like heaven

I can’t speak highly enough of this place, it is like a place in heaven, the location is superb, rooms are perfect, staff are always polite and friendly, breakfast menu is fantastic and restaurant is great if you don’t want to leave. If you are into surfing, you will love it even more.

Need beach access to the breaking waves. We re all here to surf, going through the restaurant is dangerous. Price of food and beverage is not Bali, I don’t mean street cheap, I mean cheaper than Australia at least. Coconut juice should be part of breakfast option. It’s harvested from home, why charge 35k rph, Tv access is clunky I needed maintainace to come twice so I never turned it off. Provide live music or show, so wives are entertained while boys surf.

Would definitely stay again but would ask for different rooms

An all day breakfast taken whenever it suited was a big bonus especially as a surfer wanting to make the most of the conditions in the mornings. Staff were superb.

We stayed in rooms 305 & 306. They were ground floor at the back of the complex and unfortunately next to the room where the staff keep all the cleaning equipment and laundry - this made for a lot of noise early in the morning and sometimes at night.

The room felt and smelled damp/musty at times, but having the a/c on helped. There isn't much to do in Medewi if you don't surf. I didn't enjoy the steak on the menu, but otherwise, all food was very good.
