We loved the surf vibe at Umadewi. Comfortable stylish reception, comfy beds, fab pool and pretty grounds right on the beach. Great viewing of the surf break from the restaurant and beachfront rooms. Love the place and staff, a few issues with people reserving pool seats and only using them for 1 hour or so. We had an issue with bad smells eminating from the showers, staff were prompt in trying to fix it but the problem retuned after we had our showers

Pros: -excellent and polite staff that made me feel at home -clean pool -fast check in -large, clean room in front of the pool -easy Airplay from MacBook to Sony tv -very delicious food at the restaurant -clean white towels -well manicured grounds -beachfront -lots of water provided daily - didn't have to ask for extra water -drinks in the fridge free - replenished daily Cons: -glass doors rattle when winds are strong -should have someone at the pool to stop outsiders from using the pool

Amazing stay, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The big breakfast was huge. Stayed in the ocean front suite and the garden suite. Definitely enjoyed the space and brightness of the ocean front suite. Best place to stay if surfing the Medewi point.

We love this hotel and it was the third time we stayed at Umadewi. The location is great with beautiful view of the surf break. Good restaurant and breakfast is amazing with many different options. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and clean.

Loved the spacious grounds and trees. Pool and area very nice BUT go to the pool before 8 and claim your chair umbrella otherwise U miss out until sunset! Breakfast choices all were awesome. Service was very good when not busy....be patient or come back if it's busy. Staff everywhere were pleasant and helpful.

We loved everything about this hotel! Beautifully decorated rooms, restaurant and foyer. Lovely friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure you were happy. It was our Honeymoon so we arrived to a gorgeous floral display in our room. Restaurant had amazing food and really reasonable prices. Lovely pool area and fantastic surf right at your doorstep. Couldn’t fault a thing. Will definitely be back! 10 out of 10 😊

Umadewi is a beautiful property, recently renovated and in the best location to surf Medewi's point break. Staff are all lovely and attentive, the food excellent and the views spectacular. We loved the peaceful atmosphere and relaxed vibe, and will definitely return!

We stayed in a suite with sea view, it was amazing!! The room was super nice, everything was clean and good looking! The pictures does not do this place any justice, it's really beautiful there. The ocean is kept in focus everywhere in the room. Only thing that could have been better was the restaurant, which was really simple food and a bit to pricy I can highly recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent location for surfers if you get the beach front deluxe villa, you wake up with the wave view and check the swell from your bed before walking down to surf. The room was new, nice and clean. The Food was fantastic and reasonable price. Staff were very good and accommodating. Some parts of hotel were under-renovation but it doesn’t affect our stay at all. This is the best hotel in Bali we have ever been for surfing trip (and we have been pretty much everywhere). The only let down is it’s quite a remote area and a bit far from everything else 2.30-3 hours drive from typical Bali spots, might not suit family but if you are a surfer, this would be your paradise!

What a wonderful surprise the new suites at Umadewi were. Having stayed at the Medewi Beach Cottages a few years ago, the changes in the new rooms are outstanding. Amazing views over the surf point with the water being literally metres away at high tide. They are new, luxurious and still have the wonderful service that this property is famous for. The WiFi is rather sad in the rooms. All of the staff are so warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is good and service impeccable at the Umadewi. The new restaurant which is nearing completion will be a wonderful addition to the property and the local area. ABOUT THE LOCAL AREA: Having said that, the local area is all about surfing- which is not a bad thing- but the variety and quality of food at the other restaurants and hotels on the street leave much to be desired. Service at the other properties in the area was very very slow with food not very palatable. In fact at one place the Bintang bottles smelt of rotten fish due to being stored with the day's catch. Imagine having to use the alcohol handwash on your beer bottle! We ended up coming back to the Umadewi for our meals after trying others on the first two nights. Thank you to all the staff at Umadewi, particularly to our rock and roll star waiter! Cheers Bruce and Flick
