Excellent establishment

Room was clean and comfortable, plenty of towels and enough tea coffee got chocolate and Horlicks in the room. Staff friendly and very helpful. The food was outstanding.

Little bit of noise from the adjoining rooms TV but not so bad we couldn't sleep. Beside table lights weren't working.

A great location with ample parking and good dinner options. The accommodation side of the pub feels dated and tired.

The room size and decoration was pretty good. Albeit above a pub it was also pretty quiet. A nice warm room.

This may only be relevant to room 5 where we stayed, however, the first thing you notice is that the headboard is extremely worn, not a huge issue. However that then deposits flakes of vinyl onto the pillows and cushions. The cushions were so bad that when you patted them the dirt and crap that came off was like brown snow. The worst point though was during the night as the shower drains either dried out or the daytime bleach leached away the smell everytime the ensuite door was opened it was rank. It was disgusting and ruined everything else. Otherwise this was a solid 8/10 room that needed a new headboard.

Rooms are nice, modern and comfortable, easy to park

I was situated on the ground floor, which is extremely noisy. Totally accept noise on the evening which doesn’t go on too late, but the noise in the morning was quite irritating. Staff congregated outside our door, were being very loud in conversation - there was also a mic’d up Santa rehearsing very early in the morning and it was too loud. Housekeeper tried to come into the room twice before checkout time, and was quite snotty in her response to me saying I was still in bed…

It was clean and well looked after. Mark helped with rebooking my stay when the event I was attending got postponed. That was very helpful.

The room was excellent in appearance and very comfortable. A great deal of thought and care had gone into the needs of the guests.

The room was a little small and thus reflected in the standard size of the double bed, which was itself comfortable. Normal noises from the room above were audible. Better floor insulation is needed.

The staff and the pub itself was exceptional value for money, lovely place to stay.

The food was very poor, I had fish and chips with mushy peas which was £18.50, Chips were poor quality frozen chips and small portion, the peas was a portion the size of a tea spoon, (Rations), the fish was fried to death to a point of dry so I sent it back, the 2nd one came out and it was worse, I have to say its the worst I have ever had in , my wife's Salmon fish cake was tasteless and like cat food. I would not mind it was not busy at all, shame the chef was poor as the place is great.

Lovely pub. Several areas to sit. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Bargain price for overnight hotel stay. Dog friendly with dog menu. Plenty of refreshments supplied.

Room 5 definitely needed some TLC. Extremely clean, decent sized room, just needed some attention to detail. Flat pillows and very hot room (heating wasn't on) so made sleep uncomfortable. Cracked sink in lovely bathroom so you had to be careful not to cut your hands. Fabric worn off headboard and dirty walls near bed which needed paint touch up. Such a shame as downstairs was lovely

Staff friendly and helpful even though appeared to be a busy venue. Room was clean and facilities good. Ie iron and board, kettle etc. Restaurant good.Bar staff efficient.

Pillows need replacing, the mattress is very firm. Noise from evening entertainment was very loud. Don't book room 1 on a Saturday night more soundproofing proofing required or earplugs.

The staff were fantastic, even getting the chef to take us to the wedding venue when the taxi didn’t turn up, the room had everything you needed and was very clean. Overall it was very good value

Super staff - exceeded expectations.

The staff were friendly, very professional and excellent in responding to our specific needs. We are so grateful to them. A staff member even went out and bought some decaf tea for us even though they don't normally provide it. Also they opened a quiet room for us as the bar area was really noisy (we're elderly...). Cannot fault the staff. The rooms were adequate but a little tired.

The noisy bar area as there was live music on Friday and Saturday evenings until 11 pm.

Breakfast wasn't an option on this date. A spare pillow in wardrobe would've been useful. Staff were very polite but very busy so seemed unfair to bother them 4a pillow. Hospitality tray was very impressive 👏

Dark furniture and carpet made the room a little dark.
