Quiet & comfy with views of the Eildon Hills

Nice stay in cool building

The location was ideal for us - close to Melrose, the Eildons and family we were visiting. The building was interesting as the apartment is in a converted hospital. The videos on the app were useful for finding the front door and putting the bins out. Good shower.

Advertised as having space to sleep 6 but the sofa bed kept collapsing, so I would say there was only really space for 4 adults. The furniture was quite budget. Not enough glasses in the cupboards - e.g. only one fizz glass and no tumblers. No teapot.

Mostly good, just some issues.

Too much information from the owner was received only an hour or so before arrival. I was confused as to whether we were being met with the keys or not, as I was originally told this would be the case, but it changed to us collecting from a lockbox shortly before we arrived. And it is too late to send a video of where to park less than 2 hours beforehand, as I was already travelling. In general there was too much information sent too late in the day. The shower head wouldn't stay up. The toilet had paper in it when we arrived, suggesting it might not have been cleaned.

It was ok only

The apartment was very clean, well decorated, good quality toilet paper, comfy bed, good shower.

The cutlery was diverse and very poor quality, no small food preparation knives, blunt carving knife, horrid glass tea cups TV picture very good but sound was indistinct. It was an old sanitorium and has very high ceilings, and lots of hard echoey surfaces. No proper bedside tables, no dressing table and lack of hanging space for a week's stay.

Pleasant accommodation. Most of what was needed in the flat was there clean and in good condition.

The key code and access were not simple as the instructions were not clear enough. When the key safe was opened the keys dropped a further floor outside and were inaccessible, we had to wait for the owner to bring a further set. Ongoing the main entrance door lock was tricky and a resident told us this was a constant problem with non-residents coming and going. Lighting in the sitting room area was too poor to read by - the dimmer switch in the seating area didn't make a difference. There were no operating instructions for. the microwave or the dishwasher.

Very enjoyable.

Very difficult to find the property because of strange numbering system, not the owners fault but better explanation of exactly where the property was would have been appreciated. The key box was difficult to reach and the numbers difficult to read. The outer door of the property was difficult to open.

Mamma's house was in an apartment complex on the second floor. Rooms were large and clean. Kitchen was well equipped and we were in touch with the owner who answered our questions on operation of appliances. The dining area and living room were large and well lit.

I would prefer a drip coffee machine as that is what I am accustomed to. We did have a little difficulty finding the right building in the complex as there were many of them. Once we got there it was fine.

Great place to stay!

Location was quiet yet only ten mins walk into centre Melrose. Very nice apartment, nicely decorated & lots of space. Had everything we needed! Sofa bed was great as the spare room double was a bit too cozy for our two older teens to share comfortably. Really good instructions from the owner. The videos were a great idea!

A hidden gem of an apartment on the glorious Scottish Borders.

Everything was top-notch. Dingleton Apartments enjoy a bijou location in the historic and beautiful Borders town of Melrose. The apartment is fully equipped, spacious, conspicuously well cared for, very well-appointed, quiet .. and a hidden gem. We loved it and, if circumstances permit, we’d love to make a return reservation.

Loved the beauty of the building ,an old hospital.Safe quiet area and the flat was beautiful inside comfortable and clean ,everything we needed was provided,towels cleaning products etc

The location is central to the Borders making most other places easily accessible. The building was quiet and well maintained. There was a lot of space for parking and access was nice and easy. We have already recommended to friends.

We thought this was perfect for a short stay in Melrose.

The hosts made everything easy and even though Luigi was out of town he kindly made us a reservation at Monte Cassino which was excellent. We appreciated the comfortable stay for 5 of us, ease of access to attractions. Flat was very clean too!

Nice quiet location . Clean & well presented flat Tea, coffee etc. plus dishwasher & washing machine tablets all provided Good WiFi & range of TV channels Plenty of crockery pans etc

Instructions on finding the apartment should be provided. It is within a massive complex ( a repurposed old hospital) where parts have different names & finding the right place was a challenge There were no instructions for any of the devices, including kitchen items, a Google home device & 3 separate TV remote controls! WiFi details were different to those listed Pillows were poor No small sharp kitchen knives or sieve

An Excellent Property

This was an exceptional rental which, to be honest, I could not fault. It was spotlessly clean, warm and had everything you would want for a stay away from home.

If I lived here, I would be itching to get the absolute mess of cables behind the TV sorted out. At least get it to a state where future guests would not be able to move / remove essential cables. Also maybe get rid of the gigantic TV stand.
