A wonderful beach vacation with Southeast European charm

Excellent spot for the old town.

Excellent sea view and view of sunset. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The room was spacious with a small kitchen area to the side. Mini bar in room.

It was low season and we seemed to be the only guests so no restaurant or bar available.

Amazing ocean views at an affordable price, very clean and comfortable room.

We had a stunning view of the ocean from our room. The staff were friendly and made a lovely breakfast upon request. It was in a great location.

There appeared to be less facilities as it was not in the peak season, however, staff were very helpful and welcoming.

incredible view and location

view was incredible, every morning taking a look outside the window was majestic. location is also just amazing, we went in September so it was the perfect amount of crowded and quiet. very close in foot to pretty much everything around. we parked just down the start of the castle and although the 5 minute hike up to the entrance was challenging it wasn't anything you can't manage.

there was no balcony which is a bummer. the interior itself could use some extra designing at least with details. the food was good but nothing extra.

I really loved the hotel and the trip in general , I had a great time!

It had the most breathtaking view and also the hotel itself was very classic and pretty. The staff were helpful and welcoming. I liked the location as it was very historical and touristic.

The parking spot was a bit farther from the hotel.

Very good hotel in Ulcinj old city with a very nice restaurant

The hotel is located in the old city of Ulcinj, which is a very nice location if you want to experience the charme of the old city and stay close to many restaurants, but it has its disadvantages. The hotel has a very good restaurant with a great view over the sea.

It was not a problem for us, but it is important to know that the old city of Ulcinj is a pedestrian area and it is uphill, there is a public parking not far from the hotel, but if you have heavy luggage it might not be the perfect place.

Relaxing Experience in a Stunning Location

Originally, we booked 4 nights, but later decided to arrive a day earlier and added one more night to our stay. Even though Booking didn’t offer the option to stay in the same room for the entire period, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and kept us in the same room the whole time – no need to move around. The hotel is located in a stunning spot with a beautiful sea view. Everything was smooth, and we really appreciated the flexibility and hospitality.

The only small downside was that the jacuzzi wasn’t available during our stay, but it didn’t affect our overall experience, everything else was really great.

Top hotel to stay in Ulcinj : inside the old city, easily to reach, good restaurant & wines

Probably the best location to stay in Ulcinj city : inside the old town & easy to reach, nice view on sea & cliffs, 2 min walk from a small beach (without much people). Very good restaurant with excellent wines. And a very friendly staff, eager to please you.

Windows shields were broken due to high wind. My 1st breakfast was poor, but the team reacted and you 2n breakfast was top.

What a view! Such friendly staff, and Nuri was so kind..very friendly ..carried our bags up to the first floor for us, and organized a taxi to the bus station as well . Best coffee from the barista! Delicious breakfast with indoor or outdoor seating..

Stay here, it’s beautiful, quiet and comfortable

We loved staying at the hotel Pirate. The location was perfect and very quiet. Very nice personnel. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable with a wonderful view over the bay. Bathrooms modern and pleasant. The restaurant was very good too.

Unfortunately one of the rooms (we booked 2) had faulty air conditioning and in spite of telling the staff it was not repaired. It was a Sunday and I believe the Monday was a holiday so we are not holding it against them!

Pleasant stay in a dramatic location

The view from the hotel is amazing, you see just the beauty and drama of the Adriatic. There is something special about this location in the Old Town. Overall I would much prefer staying here to one of the beachfront hotels that are numerous in Ulsinj. The breakfast was fine, it had everything one would need (though it was only from 9am which is a bit late for us).

Being in the Old Town, you have to climb up to the property and navigate lots of stone steps without handrails. Probably not a factor if you are young! I had the impression when we arrived that the hotel was just opening for the season, and was not fully prepared. The reception area and dining room were untidy. The bedroom was small and sparsely furnished and the wifi did not always work properly in the room. The room was only serviced once in the week long stay, which I do not regard as enough. The staff we met were always courteous and friendly, but I got the impression that the managers only came in now and then, thus some things were allowed to slip.

The hotel staff were exceptional going well beyond the call of duty to assist in whatever way possible. The breakfast was amazing.

Great location & view, but not the most comfortable stay

Location is excellent, with beautiful views of the sea. The room itself was roomy and comfortable. Breakfast was good as well, with freshly made eggs.

A couple of things were disappointing. There was no real reception, so check-in was a bit weird, with the guy calling us on the phone and waiting for us outside the hotel. The room looked nice at first glance, but needs a little renovation. The wifi didn't work. Water in the shower didn't get warm, so it was the shortest shower in history. As there's no manned reception, no easy way to complain or get help. We were happy we only booked the one night. We did get a bottle of wine when we left.

Beautiful Hotel Breathtaking views .

The property is on cliff edge in the old town with breathtaking views . The views from hotel room have that wow factor . Although you have numerous choices of restaurants in the surrounds the food in hotel is just as good anywhere ,breakfast was excellent.The staff are very obliging and friendly . This is our second visit to this Hotel it won’t be our last .

Lovely view

The view from the room was amazing, bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly. Location in the old town was good.

Over priced for the facilities, basically rooms and a restaurant nothing else, definitely not 4 star. The air con was inadequate and didn’t cool the room, which was an issue in an intense heatwave. Breakfast was very basic, not much choice and on my second day nothing put out as only 2 rooms occupied and you had to say what you wanted.

Fantastic host and an amazing view

Beautiful hotel, perfect location in Ulcinj - right in the old town with direct sea view. Doesn't get any better than this. We were particularly happy with the staff, they were all very kind and helpful! And we got to enjoy a fantastic breakfast. Also, it's on the far corner of the old town - a nice and quiet location but not far from all the action during summer.

The AC could be a bit stronger, but that's personal preference.

Lovely boutique hotel perfectly positioned within the old town walls

Delightful hotel with a lovely view over the bay. Modern, tasteful bedrooms are very well appointed. Breakfasts taken on the terrace were extremely generous and beautifully presented. A special thank you to Edina for her insights on all things Montenegrin - always a joy speaking to her.

Not worth the money. Our room was very small, AC was in the room but blowing hot air. The curtains where off and the only one on was half falling. Bathroom bin was dirty whe we got in and no bin liner. One afternoons 2 man where in our room when I asked why they where in there they said they were working on the hot water? It would have been nice for reception to let us know that someone will be going in. On check out the lady at reception told us that we had the master key of the whole place?? Totally not safe. No coffee in the room (only added the last day when we bought some ourselves) Anyway lacking in details

the position of the hotel is superb: just inside the upper gate of the old town and not too far from the public parking. The view from our room, overlooking the Adriatic, was fantastic. Comfortable bed, good sized shower in bathroom. Very efficient air-conditioner. Friendly hotel staff.

A gorgeous location in the old town. Rooms with sea view are absolutely stunning- we were fortunate enough to stay in one of them and would highly recommend. Good breakfast selection.

Staff didn’t inform us about how to access the property when coming home late, which instigated a slight panic- however, all was eventually fine. A couple of other minor issues, but they did knock off a bit of money for us, which was good.
