A night in Deauville.

The guy on reception was amazing, super helpful and easy to get on with, an absolute credit to his employer. The accommodation was very good for the price, the hospitality was absolutely how it should be done.

The room was way tiny; only one mirror which was IN the bathroom; it was a hot week and there was NOT even a ventilator provided. So the price was unfairly computed for these negative points. But the again, it is what it is.

Kyriad Deauville was a new hotel. I have never stayed before although it must have been built over 10 years ago. St Arnault about a mile inland from the town of Deauville is now a good village with at least one of three of Deauville horse racing tracks nearby. The outdoor swimming pool (open between30th June to October 31st) is a bonus and it is really important to have a car parking space. There was one available for everybody in August/September (My 3 days). I really did like the different breads and types of fruit for breakfast but evening meals were only available on one night,there seems to be a shortage of cooks or chefs in Deauville in August. Deauville has long sandy beaches but having family connections in the First world war and through Falaise Gap and my Mum in 2nd World War. This area is important to me.This hotel is about 4 storeys but it does have a lift.

It is OK. The location was easy for me to find but if a stranger to the area, the hotel is behind 2 other hotels and local buses only stop about 4 times a day. Deauville /Trouville SNCF station is about 2 miles but over 30 minutes walk.

The girl receptionist wasn't too welcoming and abrupt when we asked questions. Ignored us completely when we arrived late evening as kept following her laptop even when we greeted her.

Location of the hotel is perfect, especially for Deauville races. Just 15 minute walk and 25 to the beach. Italian over the road from the hotel is ok but a bit pricey.

TV 's in the room could be better and the shower was old and needed updating. The rooms are basic but comfortable and you cant really moan based on the price

Fair for the price but they should cheer it a bit up

I like they had a sauna and that it was a calm place with a separate entrance. The personal was approchable and you could ask them things and they were ready to act.

The swimming pool was closed for being winter though somewhere you read they have warm water. The sauna was very little. The first night something broke by the warm water, so the alarm set off at 4 in the morning but no one ended up informing us if it was for real or not but it was like 15min sounding. They should be more pro-active in showing you information on where to eat or what events are around or the direction to the beach and have the outside facilities more welcoming, like a bit of cosy place for seating in the evening.

The property was not really open. Based on the Q&A on booking.com I booked this hotel. However there we’re no restaurant facilities on site or near by. I waited 30 minutes to check-in, was handed a key and code for a side door and thereafter saw no staff or guests for the rest of my stay. The ar park was empty, so I believe I may have been the only guest. This should have been made clear. I will not return.
