Very clean,comfortable, well appointed accomodation. Perfectly big enough for 3 people, everything you needed and more for a fabulous stay. Bottle of wine ,pint of milk and some small cakes as a welcome gift how thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again if in Thirsk

This was a delightful base for our brief James Herriot themed exploration of the Yorkshier Dales.

Great central location but quiet and peaceful. Beautifully furnished and decorated with a well equipped kitchen. We also loved the box of chocolate biscuits!

Maybe it was user error but we couldn't get bedroom windows open

Well worth the visit!

A lovely property that is fantastically located for the town of Thirsk; it is a short walk to access all amenities. Fabulous cafes and shops nearby. There is room for parking outside the property; this was accessible by our car (a Kia EV6).

Perfect stay for wedding event

Very clean and tidy. Always grateful for any welcoming essentials like milk and cupcakes. Felt very much like a home 🏡 rather than a rental which is rare these days. All the facilities we required as attending our sons wedding at Thirsk Lodge Barnes. Location was fab 👌. Easy to get to and just a 2 minute walk into town with lots of pubs and places to eat. Perfect for what we needed for a couple of nights stay. Loved the decor picked up a few ideas 💡 Thank you Su and Steve

Lovely place.

Lovely cottage in the middle of Thirsk. Very quiet. Nice touches like cakes left for us and fresh flowers.

The passage that led to the cottage was too narrow for our car, so we found alternative parking. It would have been good to be warned of this.

Well located and clean with some down falls!

The location is very convenient, the property is clean and tidy, the host left a couple of biscuits which is always nice.

The description is over ambitious describing the parking and the sun terrace. The ‘sun terrace’ is in fact the parking space for the property, so if you park there there’s nowhere to sit outside which is a shame as this was the reason we booked. There is no turning circle as described, when we returned from a wedding the turning circle is a small car park for the other properties which was completely full therefore you can’t turn around leaving you no option but to reverse back down and park in the very small space or onto the main road which is unsafe. The car parking space is very small- I was aware of this as I saw the other reviews but realistically it isn’t a space, it’s a small flagged area outside of the front door. I think car parking should be removed from the description. The bed in the master is a 3/4 bed so be aware of that if you’re sharing it as it doesn’t make the most convenient bed to share!

Great location - cleanliness could be better

Excellent location, able to walk into Thirsk. Free parking space

Cleanliness could be better, mould in shower, stained tea towels, crumbs in toaster etc. Better cleaning system required. Candles with batteries not working, which was a shame.

Perfect in every way

The cottage is cosy, beautifully clean, thoughtfully supplied and extremely well located for access to the town sights and amenities whilst still being peaceful. Allison was also warm, kind and very helpful. She was so understanding with my mum who had a difficult journey, got into quite a state and needed help before I arrived.

I'm writing this for future bookings. The parking is good, right outside the door but a little tight through the arch way. Park the way you go in. Don't turn around first, makes it a little awkward.

A great place to stay.

The cottage is in a fantastic location - very close to town and the race course but very quiet. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. The whole property is very comfortable, clean and welcoming. It was our first visit to Thirsk which is a wonderful place with lots of pubs, restaurants and a great farmers market!

There is parking outside the cottage through the archway to the mews. Our car was too large to fit easily through the arch but there is parking just one minute away which was very safe and secure so it was not a problem at all. This certainly should not deter people from booking this lovely cottage.

The cottage was beautiful, everything we needed, every room was clean and the furnishings were lovely. Allison had thought of everything, all we needed to do was take ourselves. Will certainly be visiting again later in the year. Have reccomended it to all our friends and family.
