Fab relaxing weekend at Duck Cottage which is warm and cosy.

Cozy and central to everything. I was brought up in thirsk and came to visit my Nanny's grave and used to feed the ducks when I was little girl.

Ideal location for exploring Thirsk and surrounding area. A couple of minutes walk from shops, eateries, bus, taxi etc.

Duck Cottage is delightful, cosy and comfortable and situated in a picturesque location.

The location of the cottage was perfect for exploring Thirsk. Everything was within walking distance. The cottage was clean, tidy and very comfortable. There was a lovely welcome pack which included bread, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate and chocolate caramel shortbread. Almost everything we needed was provided including a washer dryer, iron and ironing board. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans etc.

There were some things not provided at the cottage which would have made our stay a little easier. We had to go out and purchase a few items which we had expected to be provided; handwash, shampoo, shower gel, kitchen roll and air freshener. We found the duvet on the double bed too small to cover two people. It only just reached the edge of the bed before we got into the bed so once we were in we were barely covered and spent the night fighting over the duvet!

Wonderful relaxing break

Easy to find, clear instructions. Within easy walking to main centre, shops, restaurants etc. Cosy home, well equipped kitchen. Property bigger than anticipated. Gorgeous, relaxing lounge, tastefully decorated. Lovely welcome pack of bread, milk etc. Bed linen and towels nice and fresh. New bathroom, nice hot shower. Nice view out onto Cod Beck (stream) with the resident ducks very friendly

Parking permit for parking on the street outside. Not always a space to park, especially if you went out during the day and then returned a few hours later. I think local businesses also have permits to park there too during the day, which may be the reason for this. Can get noisy in the evenings when pubs/restaurants close due to the proxiity of public car park

Great cosy cottage, spotlessly presented and ideally located to explore this part of Yorkshire dales

Great location ... just off the market square but nestled in next to stream teeming with ducks. Lovely for a stroll. Compact cottage but all you need for a weekend break. Herriot museum just a few hundred yards away. Easy access to local towns and villages (Ripon, York, Harrogate, Richmond) so plenty on the doorstep. Also surrounded by beautiful countryside. Plentu of books and board games if you fancy a quiet night in.

We loved absolutely everything about the cottage! It was extremely well equipped with everything we needed and so much more! The decor was beautiful, it was exceptionally clean and the beds were super comfy! Location was perfect within the town and parking permit a great bonus!

understand cottage is small perhaps a small dishwasher and a tv in bedrooms would have been nice. I know there was free parking but it's a shame you can't park in the courtyard like everyone else in that area.
