It was hot in the room. There is no ventilation. A pedestal fan is provided but there are no power outlets near the window to pull in some fresh air.

Lovely stay, with midnight walk up to Mont S Michel, perfectly pleasant low cost, simple accommod'n

It was quirky and budget and had awesome views. This is not a luxury romantic place but the location by the river and the walk up to Mont St Michel - and access to scruffy bikes that you could hire for a token amount (2 euro) for your whole stay made it very pleasant to be there. We were in the main building - but i think i would probably have preferred one of the eco chalets ... Very laid back and on the shabby side of shabby chic! Good simple breakfast and very friendly staff (feels like it is multi generation family run)

It is what it is - If it was smartened up then it wouldnt have teh charm that it has, if it was neatly manicured then it wouldnt have the wilder eco feeling to it, if the rooms were bigger and more luxurious it wouldnt feel like the same sort of place.

Great Budget Hotel near Mont Saint Michel.

The Rose Cottage is a great budget hotel. The staff were very welcoming and gave us valuable information regarding our visit to Mont Saint Michel. We walked to the monastery and caught the shuttle bus for half of our return journey. There are plenty of options for an evening meal close by and the breakfast we opted in was very satisfying. Overall a great place to stay for a visit to Mont Saint Michel.

The WiFi was a little sketchy but we worked around this as there was good phone service.

Everything was very clean. I was able to rent a bike and go to Mont Saint Michel. The shower temperature and water pressure were very good. The Afghan food at the entrance of the hotel is very delicious.

The breakfast could be more varied as it only includes pastries and bread. It’s a continental breakfast.

The bikes that are rented if guests want to are not in a good shape. Some have brakes that’s don’t work and they don’t have working lights.

The cabins interior was pretty plain, but honestly I think that was part of the charm. It was a little far to walk from the Le mont Saint Michele shuttle bus to the property.

Well located, comfortable, quiet and clean place to stay

Location was superb for easy access to Mont St Michel. it was also very quiet and our quintuple room (for two) was lovely and private. The bed was super comfortable too and appreciated a top sheet as well as the duvet. Very helpful and friendly staff as well as excellent food caravan on site!

Would have preferred tea and coffee making facility in our room.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The location was very good also. The breakfast room was pleasant and the artwork was very nice. Parking was excellent right next to the property.

The room was tiny as was the bathroom, and you needed to open the bathroom door to get into the shower. The bed was very hard, the shower grouting was very old and dirty, as was the shower head. It's probably the worst 'hotel' room l have ever stayed in. I can only speak about the room we had, obviously. To call it a hotel is not a very good description, it is a very basic b and b. Sorry to have to criticize, but it was very disappointing accommodation

you need to walk two kilometers to reach the barrage, and from there you can take a shuttle to le mont Saint-michel. that’s very convenient. the breakfast they offer is also good for the price asked

RESPITE FOR THE SOUL

A family home for 4 generations, it's kept that feel of family comfort. He's an artist, whose paintings hang in the rooms. She's a gardener, who loves to show you her beautiful plantings. Both very kind and accommodating. The spacious rooms look out to the Channel that runs down to The Island. You can see it from the backyard. Past that is farmland. There is a nice paved walk down the 4 km to Mont St Michel. They do have bikes to rent for only a couple euros. Breakfast was well worth it. They allowed us to come get a bag of fresh pastries & coffee to take to our room for only a few euros. They do serve in the glassed-in porch Cafe. There are at least 4 restaurants and a produce store within a block. It's very quiet, even on a Saturday night. (As Americans, we had to get used to the idea that they aren't open many hours.)

I will get a hot water wand for tea for late evenings. I'm sure they would have lent us mugs, but I did think to ask.

the location close to the mont saint michel and right onto the river, the huge garden the rooms are huge; the host were very helpful , and gave good advice on tide times, best times to visit, restaurants. they have a lot of bikes, I recommend them to cycle to the Moint saint Michel

Just too lovely

This small hotel is such a lovely place that I decided to stay longer. So I booked twice in two days! The location is amazing， you can see Mont Saint Michael when you stand out of the hotel. You can walk to there or rent a bike from the hotel. The owners of the hotel are very friendly and very helpful，they will give you a lot of information about restaurant and you can check-in or Check-out at any time during a day. Parking at site is very convenient. The room for breakfast is beautiful， just like a place in the painting of impressionist， I couldn't help taking photos of it. In fact，I stayed in this place during a big tour. In 3 weeks， I slept in many different hotels including several 4 stars. But Hotel Rose is the only place which I wish I can come back agai.

It will be even better if they can put a hair dryer in the room.
