Nice hotel room next to the Mont

The room, the perfect location next to the Mont

We had no clear information about how to get a shuttle at 6am to be at the Mont at 6.45am for the pray. We arrived a bit late and no restaurants still open in the area at 9pm.

interesting, pleasant, good hotel.

We have arived quite late, had no idea how to get into the parking area of the hotel until some one helped us. The . problem was, there was no place to get something to eat. A vending machine would have made life a lot more pleasant. The concierge offered to prepare us sandwiches, but we ditrouble her with that. Please have a vending maching there!

Good for a one night stopover when visiting the Mont.

The position of the property was good for visiting the Mont with the shuttle right outside the door. One of the Reception lady spoke good English so that was a plus.

Hotel Gabriel is an excellent place to stay for visiting Mont Saint-Michel.

The hotel was located perfectly for seeing Mont Saint-Michel and other area sites. It was also located conveniently near multiple dining options. The room was clean and had ample room and storage for our belongings. Also, the reception staff was fantastic. The staff that checked me in spoke English very well, which was a huge plus, given that my ability to speak French is very limited. It made the entire process much easier than our stay elsewhere the prior evening.

The only drawbacks I had was the lack of air conditioning. I do understand that this is normal across most of the country, but it only was really an issue when having to leave the windows open to cool off, and our room was directly above the front entrance where people would smoke cigarettes and the smoke would end up coming into our room.

Mediocre

Bed was comfortable and it is nice to have 2 singles plus a double for a family, as opposed to a pull out bed for kids. The staff were really nice and helpful.

The hotel itself is both dated and run down. Whilst the bedroom was clean the rest of the hotel did not appear so. There is also no lift which should be flagged at booking as my son is on crutches and had to climb 2 flights of stairs.

The hotel was perfect. Location was super, staff very friendly, breakfast very good. Can definitely recommend this hotel.

All was very good but 1 thing to consider is that there is no elevator. For us it was no issue at all and we were on the first floor.

Decent hotel, great location

Clean and modern hotel. The triple room was of a really decent size. Usually hotels just put an additional bed and call it a triple room, and there is almost no place left around beds, but Gabriel is a fair triple room: a lot of space and good room layout. Decent breakfast. Very close to the start of the bridge to Mont-Saint-Michel. Parking at the hotel (10€ per day).

There is no elevator. It is expected when a hotel is located in some old house in a city center, but it is a quite new hotel with a lot of space around, so it is weird that they didn't build a lift. Given that the reception is 24/7, I hope that there will be people to help with luggage if needed (we handled it ourselves, no problem), but it is worth taking into account, for example, if you arrive at night and can't lift luggage on your own.

Couldnt choose a better location to visit the Mont Saint Michel

Perfect location, as the hotel is right opposite to the bus stop. The connecting bridge is 200 meters away and one can have the impressive views of the island. We had a spacious room on the first floor which was convenient. They have parking space right outside the hotel. As the hotel is inside the La Caserne area, there is a parking fee of 10 Euros per day. The breakfast is so-so.

Much to do about nothing Mont-Saint-Michel

Probably the most comfortable bed I have experienced in France.. I find most beds to be too firm for me. The staff is amazing. The shower has ample room and the pressure was appreciated. The location, across from the shuttle was convenient, but we opted to walk to Mont-Saint-Michel. Very dog friendly as well!

Mont-Saint-Michel is very overrated. During the day the crowds are stifling and unbearable. I recommend visiting after 18:00. Mont-Saint-Michel is stunning from the outside but very lacking upon entry and within. I realize this is not the fault of the hotel, but it is also the reason to stay in the hotel.

Exceptional

Good clean straight to the point accommodation. Absolutely fabulous location for parking and walking / free bus to Mont St Michelle. Rooms extremely clean. Breakfast was spot on for what 4 adults and 6 children needed. Would definitely stay here again for the value. Front of house was very friendly.

1. Restaurants across the road was only OK. Do yourself a favour and plan your evening meal around eating in Mont St Michelle. Yes it will be more expensive but has to be worth it. 2. Zero zero zero absolutely zero night life around the hotel.... That can be a positive actually but not after you've had a bottle of wine and want to hit the town! :) 3. Only 2 negatives about the hotel and this is nit picking.... The tour buses with people staying in the hotel start up at 6am and idle the buses for 20min to half an hour... Lads go away to the end of the car park and let us sleep after the wine!!! 4. No air con! Summary: But look these comments are only me being 100% pedantic.... The proof of the pudding is in the eating which translates to yes I would have zero hesitation in staying here again.

The location was great if you’re planning to visit Mt St Michel. The paid breakfast breakfast was very good.

There were no screens on the windows which would be nice since there’s no A/C. The shower was pretty slippery. There was no paper towels or toilet paper in the lobby bathroom. We informed the desk attendant and 3 hours later when we returned still the same. It was not easy to find the gate and I called several times. The person was very nice but told me to go straight when it was actually left.
