Excellent location, but unnecessary frugality.

Excellent location, friendly host, very good breakfast (though one must adjust to the hostess style of serving, where you point to an item and she adds it to your plate).

Room was rather small, the bathroom did not include toiletries except hand soap, each occupant had one small pillow. All this created an uncomfortable feeling of frugality.

Wonderful stay!

The owner was very kind and prepared everything clean. We were 7 people -four adults and three kids-, so we stayed in the family room and a normal room. I think kids were very noisy, but the owner didn't mind. The breakfast was also organized and delicious. There were baguette, croissant, a variety of cheeses, fruits and drinks. The view of Mont Saint Michel seen from the garden of the hotel was majestic. I recommend this hotel for people who want to stay in a calm place near Mont Saint Michel. I appreciate for the owner's kindness. Hope we stay there once again in the future!

If some bottles of water are prepared in the rooms, it would be better, especially in summer.

The best stay near Mont Saint Michel

This is a real jem - great location, nice room, comfortable bed, private bathroom. free parking, breakfast. Very nice host showed us the territory and gave a lot of info on Abbey, surroundings, transportation etc. We stayed closer than most visitors parked, and still it was very quiet and peaceful.

The breakfast experience was quite disappointing. The owner was extremely stingy — on the first morning, we received exactly two small glasses (100 ml each) of orange juice served in a tiny thermos. On the second morning, the amount was even less, just enough for one and a half glasses. All the food was kept behind a tall, slanted glass display, like in a shop, and handed out in small portions. While the owner said we could ask for more, her tone discouraged us from doing so and took the joy out of the meal. There was also an unpleasant smell in the room, likely due to the age of the house.

The perfect spot for visiting mont st michel, an easy 20 minute walk to the base, avoid all the crowds on the buses and a great view while you walk. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and you have the most lovely host who took her time to explain the area to us and provided an excellent breakfast!

A cute place with a tasty breakfast, located perfectly for free shuttle access to Mont Saint Michel

Continental-style breakfast, with a thoughtful introduction to each locally-sourced favourite of the host. The location was great, as we could walk to Mont saint Michel, or take the shuttle (5 min away). Thanks to some recommendations from the gracious host, we day-tripped to Mont Dol, Cancale, and Saint Malo - all worth a visit if you have a car.

The bed/pillow could have been more comfortable, but the room and stay overall made it less a problem for a two night stay.

For the price, we found the room basic and quite small, with no views, and it smelled a bit damp. But it was comfortable and we had a very good sleep. We also found the way that breakfast was served was a bit strange (strict portion control !) but we got used to it.

A calm, friendly spot with a front-row view of the Mont

The host was very friendly and extremely helpful with info on things to see, places to eat, and serving us breakfast in a Covid-safe manner. We had picnic breakfasts and the picnic dinner option (microwaveable meals from local produce, delicious) outside in lovely summer weather, at an outside table with a direct view across to Mont-Saint-Michel. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely relaxed and homey atmosphere. It was an easy walk to the boardwalk leading to the site (and to the bus shuttle service), and to some nearby restaurants. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else near M-S-Michel!

The breakfast was excellent with options to "picnic" in your room or take breakfast in the socially distanced lobby. Veronique was very gracious and so friendly and helpful.

Unforgettable experience and charming host.

Veronique was charming, warm and welcoming. The location could not have been better; we were a 5 min walk from the shuttle and all the restaurants. the room was large, the bathroom modern and clean, the beds very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. The first morning we had to get up early to get to the Abbey for our tour, and Veronique prepared us a picnic basket. The Abbey and town are incredible; truly an unforgettable experience!

It was a hidden gem. I stayed for two nights and enjoyed every moment. It is located just 5 minute away from the bus stop at where you can take a free shuttle to Mont saint Michel and the bus to Pontorson. Also, you can walk to Mont saint Michel. The room is clean and cozy with a large bathroom. It has a large window and you can go out to the garden through the window. In the garden, you will see amazing view of Mont saint Michel and you can have picnic breakfast there. The breakfast was also fantastic selection of local cheese and charcuterie. Furthermore, what made my stay more pleasant was the host, Veronique. She is really kind and always ready to help us. Her recommendation about the restaurant was helpful.

Excellent stay

The host herself, location, and attention to detail (including covid precautions taken during breakfast) were all exceptional. We were able to enjoy the view of the Mont 2x from the hotel terrace including once with a picnic basket full of breakfast which the host put together. The location is just outside of the regulated parking zone of La Caserne. It allowed us to come and go freely without worrying about parking. The Mont is about 2 km from the hotel and a lovely walk for us. The free shuttle is also very close. The tips the host gave us made our stay easy and enjoyable. My French is basic but her English was great so no communication issues. We enjoyed chatting with her :) We found the bed, pillows, and bathroom all clean and satisfactory and slept well.
