Adorable apartment in Nice downtown

L’ascenseur arrêtait un palier plus bas. Nous avions de grosses valises et difficile de monter le dernier étage.

Location was excellent and all the amenities provided in the room was good.

Very very small bathroom with shower curtain. The smell from the neighbours property in the bathroom when you keep windows open was very bad. Watch your head on the beams if you are taller than 4ft 10.

The apartment appears to have been recently renovated to a very good standard. All of the rooms including the kitchen and rest rooms were exceptionally clean. As a coffee lover, I was delighted to see a coffee maker with complimentary coffee pods! The kitchen utensils were clean and handy especially in the evenings when we made light dinners with easy cook ingredients bought from the Lidl store about 10 to 15 mins walk from the apartment. My wife and daughters didn't miss having their hair dryers because there was one in the bedroom that came to good use. The apartment is located within a range of 10 mins to 20 mins from Promenade des Anglais, Nice Ville station and the Alsace Lorraine tram station. Since we have older children who don't mind walking, this was not much of an issue for us and we found the apartment a convenient base from which we could make our day trips. Our host was polite and friendly and we were able to communicate via text to update them on scheduled arrival and departure times. After I gave our deposit, it was followed by a prompt written acknowledgement via text and this amount was returned following an inspection prior to departure. There was continuous running hot water through the taps and shower all through the day and night which was very convenient. The bathroom had enough towels, shampoo, and body wash all of which came in handy. Being on the top floor, the apartment is comparatively warm. However personally this was not a major problem for us because there was a portable air conditioner in the living room and a stand up floor fan in the bedroom which helped. The apartment is on the 6th floor and there is a lift up till the 5th floor after which you need to climb one flight of stairs to get to the 6th floor. This was not a problem with us as we personally didn't have a problem climbing stairs. The lift is small but that didn't bother us because we were all standing passengers.

1) The apartment is on the top floor with a slanting ceiling. At 6ft tall there were a few times I mistakenly hit my head on one of the horizontal wooden beams that's painted the same colour as the ceiling. It will be good if the horizontal beams could be painted brown like the vertical beams for better visibility and safety.

Hot water wasn't sufficient for 3 people.
