Staff were very welcoming. Kitchen was being refurbished so we couldn't enjoy an evening meal, which we understand are excellent. Continental breakfast was fine.

breakfast was very good and well presented homemade jam was a real bonus the two ladies were lovely hosts.
this is nothing personal as i am very much a dog lover but i think having 3 large dogs in the bar eating area could put people off. Also the bar area was very untidy and more resembled the ladies living room which was being used as such.

If I had booked this just for bed and breakfast in a rural area it would have worked. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the breakfast substantial and well cooked.
However the web site badly needs updating to manage peoples expectations. That is both their own website and booking.com information
We booked expecting to be at a pub, which served evening food, and would be pleasant to sit in with our friends and chit chat over a meal and drinks (and spend our money) then sleep after a busy day. Instead we had to turn out again to find food. Also...
(a) the entrance is not really welcoming you walk between what appears to be the owners sofas to reach any sort of public area
(b) there is a difference between 'dog friendly' and dog dominant. The owners dogs have become territorial and whilst I have no problem with a good watch dog, but be prepared for 5 minutes of mayhem of growls, barks and owners trying to keep them quiet before you can even cross the threshold.
(c) Information across website and visitors folders is not consistent as to the time breakfast is served, also outdated wi-fi code and information about Covid cleaning, not really something you want to be reminded about when on holiday.
