Hotel Neptun - Terme & Wellness LifeClass

I was very satisfied with my stay. Hotel Neptun kindly arranged a change of room and location for me, which I really appreciated. I was especially happy that, for the same price, I received a better room with a beautiful sea view. I was eventually accommodated at the Grand Hotel Portorož, where I had a truly wonderful experience. The housekeeping staff and the rest of the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. I was also pleasantly surprised when they gave me a birthday gift completely on their own initiative. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made my stay even more special. I can honestly recommend the hotel and its wonderful staff. I would definitely be happy to come back again!

Hotel Neptune is one of several hotels run by the LifeClass chain in the same area, which are interlinked by a few passages and stairwells and therefore you get access to a lot of the same facilities as the 5 star hotels for a reduced price. The best parts of the stay were: 1. Excellent staff, the check-in process, the cleaning staff and kitchen staff were absolutely amazing, very well trained and kind. The cleanliness of the rooms in particular the bathroom and balcony was admirable given how the rooms seem to have been rebuilt last time 15-20 years ago. 2. The pool facilities were extremely nice, very clean, with a lot of space and an on site bar which was very nice. 3. Excellent basic breakfast, having simple healthy choices prepared perfectly (runny eggs, particularly fresh fruits changed everyday, pancakes and traditional Slovenian meat and cheese pies). 4. The sea view from the balcony was really amazing, and given we had a nice working fridge in our room, we could enjoy a cold drink in the evenings without going into the town. 5. The air-conditioning is running non-stop and very well, making the room very comfortable. 6. In hotel bike storage with a complete set of tools available for use.

During our stay we had a few gripes which really turned an amazing stay into a : 1. Access for wheelchairs and prams is not ideal. There is a single elevator which take very long to get during breakfast and evening, especially if you are at the upper floors and none of the indoor passage linking the hotel facilities have ramps. In Hotel Neptune in particular, they close the door at 22:00 meaning you have no way to return to your room with a pram without carrying up the stairs in case you end up staying later. 2. Squeaky old beds. All of the beds in our rooms were old and squeaky , with one bed being extremely loud. We managed to get by without requesting a new bed, because one of our smaller children slept in it, but for two adults it would have been impossible to sleep. Not sure if the hotel would have changed it if we asked but the staff were very nice and perhaps they would have arranged it. 3. The Therme facilities were under construction and not available.

We were on half-board, the food variety was good, but the food quality, central serving was more of a mensa type rother then a restaurant type.

The hotel has no parking facilities, in town or private parking places can used for parking, 15-23 EUR/day, if you find a place. In the restaurant for dinner there was a seating assignment, we could not choose our place to sit based on the arrival and free availability. bit had a feeling of the old times.
