This is one of six hotels on the street - you don't which hotel you will be in until you arrive. Bad The AC in the rooms is poor - we changed rooms twice and the lowest it would go to (after many hours) was 24 deg C. Sweaty sleeping. No loungers at the beach (as advertised in the listing) unless you want to play a daily fee. Should be included for hotel guests. Ridiculous sign in (security) for indoor pools (each person must have their own room card and also sign out with it. Multi gendered change room for pools does not work - needs separate change rooms for privacy. Good Breakfast Staff tried their best to help us with the AC issue, but it was a building system issue that they could not fix. Chairs available on pool deck at hotel or sub lounging. Property, for the price is not worth it.

Please avoid, this is a scam, travelled a month through Europe and this was the only terrible experience. They must scam the rating system, because they are over 4 stars, was lazy and booked based on that, later saw the reviews and regretted. Booked two nights but left after one. Dirty bathroom, rude staff, 30 year old carpet

The room was clean and the view to the sea great. The air condition was very old and noisy, but with open window it was impossible to sleep as the music played loud all night long. The hotel pools with sea water were nice, also the pools with thermal water to which one had acces by walking through 3 hotels. The bathrobe rent was 6 euros. Acces to sauna extra 15 euros. At the seaside you have no place to use your own towel you had to rent a sunbed and or umbrella for 20 euros. The food was fade except for saturday evening when it improved a little. Breakfast was ok.

The reception staff was nice, but the spa reception staff was horrible, not service minded what so ever (dont even know why they had a person there since it was gates you opened with your bracelet). The breakfast was great, unfortunatley the staff closed off most tables towards the windows every day so hard to enjoy the Great view. Everything was nice and clean, and the beds was comfy. In General service staff in portoroz was way less outgoing and serviceminded than most other places in Slovenia, so even if the hotel was nice i would recomend Piran wich is just next door if you want to go to the coast.

Room overprised and very small with no wiew. disapointed with room size for amount of money paid for. it is central and had free access to Termal bath. Loved the massage. was not able to open tne window.

The location was perfect on the main strip near restaurants, beach etc. The facilities were great the pools were fab outdoor and indoor, and the breakfast suited everybody. The only thing that I have to say is the staff need to be more friendly, greet the hotel guests be more approachable and helpful.

The Hotel Riviera is one of 5 hotels all under the Lifeclass brand, which have access to the same central health & wellness facilities.The whole experience was very expensive and extremely disappointing and I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Firstly the hotel is dated and tired and looks in need of a refurbishment. This extends to the health & wellness facilities which photograph well for the website but are pretty aged and uninviting in reality. Also, despite a high room rate, only access to the main pools is included - for example you have to pay extra to use the sauna.Secondly the service was very poor. Calling either reception or the spa complex to make a booking for a treatment normally took numerous attempts before anyone answered, and when they did, the tone could best be described as curt.Thirdly, we stayed on a friday night and there was a bar on the beach front opposite the hotel that played extremely loud music until 1am. Our room was as far away from the bar as possible so I would have thought that anyone with a sea facing room would have had a similar or worse experience. Reception proved little help when they did answer the phone, first claiming that the music would finish at 11, then 11:30, then 12 etc. This was of course when they answered the phone. When we complained in the morning we were not offered any sort of complementary service and indeed were told thats what we should expect having a beach front room.Overall, a very poor hotel.

I stayed at the Hotel Riviera and it was absolutely wonderful. I had my Aussie Shepard with me and the hotel staff was very friendly. There was a grassy area right across the street where you can take dogs out. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with a balcony and stunning view of the water. The breakfast was outstanding - probably one of the best I have seen. I also took advantage of the hotel spa facilities and highly recommend the Thai massage with hot herbs. The hotel is right in the center of all the restaurants and street scene, so there is plenty to do. There are also several nice hikes to do in the area.
