i accidentally entered from the door on the first floor and was confused looking for the reception, i guess it could be nice to have a sign to indicate the reception is downstairs.

Nice little family-run hotel. Clean and well maintained. Nice pool. Great views of the lake. Free transport with the Ticino Ticket. Good breakfast. At my request, hotel put a fridge in the room.

Beautiful

A really nice hotel in beautiful and quiet Locarno villas location. Absolutely stunning views of the lake from the balcony and the restaurant terrace. Everything in hotel was excellent: breakfast, cleanliness, comfort of the room, swimming pool and so all the lovely staff. Public transport bus no 3 directly from Locarno train station just outside of the hotel (every 30 minutes) and is free with Ticino ticket.

Pictures do not match reality and price too high for what it offers

View very nice and breakfast very good. Staff was very friendly.

The room does not look like in pictures. The 3rd bed, the child one was very unstable, uncomfortable and basically we paid extra for nothing. The room is quite noisy.

Hotel has one of the best view in Locarno. Very good idea to use local busses + other transports via Ticino Ticket app.. I really appreciate hotel staff that had pleasant approach, very tasty dinner menu and room cleanliness. Unfortunately was raining and I couldn't use pool, but next time I will not skip it. :)

Only one small "cosmetics mistake" - little bit more powerful hair dryer would be sufficient. And breakfast coffee.

Amazing view and great hospitality

Amazing view! gluten free bread and cereal for breakfast among other options. gf options for lunch/dinner. friendly staff.

it’s a bit far away from the center. however the bus stop is next to the hotel and it takes 10min. the hotel provided free bus tickets for my entire stay. also because of the location on the hill’s side you have such an amazing view. one can walk down to the city center via several very beautiful paths (25min). however coming back on foot and especially at night is challenging. one should catch the last bus around midnight.

We had a large sunny terrace with a panoramic view to the lake.

There was some kind of event in Locarno with a extremely loud speaker system so that everyone all over Locarno and Orselina had to listen to this for hours on end. Too bad for really enjoying the peace and quiet of the surroundings.

Relaxing holiday

Lovely little family-run hotel in Orselina, overlooking Locarno. Fantastic view of the lake and town/mountains. Spotlessly clean. Nice swimming pool, helpful staff and good buffet breakfast. Frequent bus service from outside to the town (10-15 mins and free with the complimentry Ticino Ticket) Funicular and cable car also close by.

Lovely place that I would comw back to

The staff was wonderful: helpful and able to speak multiple languages easily. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The pool was nice and so were the sun bathing chairs available for free. I loved the mattress and the pillow, very comfy! I booked a single room with lake view.

The bathroom was very well equipped but could use some pipe cleaning as the water from the shower was collecting in the tub and took a while to drain.

Really Good Stay

Staff, cleanliness and facilities. Breakfast was good. Room was really comfortable and air con was great! Enjoyed the swimming pool!

The only drawback is if travelling with family and small children, and if they put you up in the highest floor, to which you cannot take an elevator (it stops 1 floor below) you have to carry your child as well as all your supporting belongings with you; however, staff was really good and offered to keep our pram next to reception. It would be nicer just to have a room somewhere within the reach of an elevator if travelling with small kids. Small drawback, but overall score is high!

View amazing, breakfast ok, room large and spacious and everything we needed. Good value for money.

Even though the room /bathroom was very clean, I did notice a lot of hair on the floor. They stuck to my socks and my daughter was playing on the floor and I saw a lot of small hairs stuck to her toys. I think the hairs must be stuck to the cleaning MOP used and so when the floor is wiped wet with the mop it probably leaves all the hairs. that wasn't very nice ,but was the ONLY complaint. Weather !! But not hotel fault !

Great renovated hotel, awesome view and great breakfast with friendly staff.

Clean and renovated single room (#35) with a balcony (equipped with a comfy chair and small table) and a great view over the lake! With the bus stop almost on front of the entrance. Great breakfast with fresh products and awesome bread! Super friendly staff. Nice and clean outside little swimming pool in the garden. I stayed 3 nights.

This happens often in small hotels: the rooms are not sound proofed so I could hear everything from the next room.....

Für eine kurze Auszeit ist dieses Hotel perfekt. Kulinarisch ausgezeichnet und sehr ruhig.

Für die Aussicht über den Lago Maggiore ist das Hotel Stella prädestiniert. Man ist sehr schnell mit dem Bus in Locarno. Die Bushaltestelle ist 10m entfernt. Das Frühstück ist vitaminreich und ausgesprochen vielfältig. Für eine kleine Auszeit ist das Hotel perfekt.

Wir waren nicht das erste Mal dort und haben nichts gefunden, was zu bemängeln wäre.
