It was quiet area, close to our activities, clean, but in dire need of update!
It takes 10 times to get the key pad to work!

The proximity to the Ocean, comfortable couch and chairs, nice view, homey feel. Ecola State park very close.
Mattresses were not great, backyard looked like it hadn't been touched in a while..looked like zero updates to the home in many years.

The location is AWESOME. There is a view of the ocean from the livingroom and second bedroom which is at the front.
Sweet little place. Everything one needs is here. LOTS of bath towels as well as beach towels. Appliances etc worked well especially pretty new washer and dryer.
Lots of space and so much more comfortable than a hotel.
Great back deck has a unique table set with extra chairs. Back yard has a desert design to it with grasses and plants not requiring watering. The biggest rosemary bush is in the back corner of the lot. Don’t go out back in bare feet.
Elk are around so the backyard is fenced.
Impressed with Vacasa. Responded immediately when I messaged them.
I dislike writing any negatives as it is a wonderful area to be in and The negatives really need to be addressed to the owners.
For the price I must say that the cottage should NOT smell like an old musty cottage!
I think perhaps removing the old carpeting in the bedrooms might help that. As much as I love wooden window and door frames, sealing them with varnish/urethane would make it easier to keep clean.
I took the smaller bedroom which had the view and sound of the ocean as its only positive point. ( oops.. two good points! screen great to be able to leave the window open.) Carpet stained -looks dirty even if it’s been shampooed! The only lamp in the far corner away from bed has a broken knob with tape on it I assume to help grip and turn? I couldn’t get it to turn! I moved a kitchen chair in and borrowed a small lamp from the livingroom so I could read in bed and have a place to put my water on. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I thought that it was just an old mattress and I didn’t realize why until the last morning when I looked under the bed. A wooden slat is totally broken causing the mattress to fail in the middle.
Lovely fireplace but no wood available to light on the cool eves. NOTE to owners! There is an animal with claws up in peak of roof above living room. We tried to see what it was but no luck. Heard 4 of the 5 days. ? Nest?
We had to add an additional day to our stay. Our flight carrier cancelled our flight out Monday so we asked if we could book Monday at the cottage. This was prior to our arrival but we had already paid the full price for the four days. We booked thru Booking.com but Vacasa is the management company overseeing the cottage. It just didn’t make sense that we had to pay 200 over the daily total because “the price had increased”. Maybe I’m being unreasonable.
