Staff.
Was friendly and informative. The location Was good and the price was adequate for what we got , though there was room for improvement
The shower PAN was dirty, the grout was grainy. The bathroom tiles had been overgrounded and left gunky tile. The accumulated dirt there were many yellow stains on the ceiling massive one. Actually from a leak, someone's buggers were on the ceiling. There was cigarette holes burnt into the mattress pad and. Otherwise it was adequate

Good location. The room was clean and quiet.
Extremely expensive for a '60's converted motel.

To have been told about breakfast

Location worked well for us. Traveling through and this was right off the freeway. Subway Sandwich Shop across the street.
Breakfast was not included. This facility is used by contractors, lots of pick ups, trucks and utility trailers. This is not a bad thing but it makes parking tight.

Nothing special
Very bad breakfast and 40$ deposit which we have to give for eventual damage of this place We are old couple and we don’t feel ok if we are treated like criminals

“Exceptional Stay — Truly the Best in Baker
I’ve stayed at nearly every hotel in Baker City over the years, in both the busiest and slowest seasons, and this one stands out by a mile.
The location is perfect — right on Main Street with easy access to the highway, plenty of parking, and several restaurants just across the street. The property’s smart horseshoe design makes it feel secure, quiet, and convenient for everyone.
The rooms are spotless and comfortable. Everything feels well cared for and thoughtfully maintained. The rules make sense and keep the property in great condition — for example, the designated smoking area is away from the rooms, which keeps the air clean and the experience pleasant.
The owner deserves special mention. He works harder than anyone I’ve seen in the business — I’ve personally watched him working through the night, then up on the roof at sunrise, then back behind the desk later that day. That’s not a lack of staff — that’s commitment, pride, and intelligence. It’s clear he takes personal responsibility for every part of the guest experience, and it shows.
The staff are friendly and attentive, always around when needed. Housekeeping keeps everything immaculate and often brings a cheerful, family feel to the place. The pricing is honest and consistent — whether you book online or pay in person, the value is the same.
For seniors, there are convenient first-floor rooms. For families, adjoining rooms are available. Everything here is designed with care and practicality.
If there’s availability, don’t hesitate to book. This is the kind of place that reminds you what genuine hospitality feels like. Easily the best stay in Baker City — a solid six-star experience.
I can't find any reason to not like this place after thinking for a few minutes.

It was clean and comfortable
The staff was rude to my son when he checked in. The staff stated that there was no dog on the reservation. I called the hotel and told them that there would be a dog! Lack of communication between staff I guess. The worst part was when he snickered at my son because he wanted a credit card for security purposes and my son told him he has one but there is little money in his account. The attendant told him he doesn’t want it if it is going to be denied and snubbed him. I paid for my son to come see me because he works hard to support his family and barely makes ends meet. I know that unless the attendant lives with his parents, he is barely making ends meet as well, and shouldn’t snub guests!

Uhh the room smelled like cat pee and when we asked 2 days into our 4 day stay if we could have a housekeeper reset the room (towels bedding etc) they acted like it was too much of an ask. There was no breakfast offered, they used to when it was owned by a nice couple. The blankets were cheap and honestly really not great either. The third night the heater stopped working

Room was quiet and comfortable. A good place to wait out the snow closure on I-84.
It's not that I didn't like it, but the place is a bit strange in that a lot of the rooms were closed or used as storage. The hotel building is in the shape of a horseshoe and one half was not being used.

We did not eat the breakfast.
Rooms are small….could not block out the light from the window. Light showed through the bottom of the window which lit up the room at night.

The photo on the website showed a sign that read free breakfast. It turned out to be false. There was no breakfast provided and the staff was unapologetic about it, saying there was a disclaimer in the website's fine print. We will never stay there again.

When we got there the office was close and they had a no vacancy note on the door, despite accept the reservation 5 hours earlier. Granted, we arrived very late, but still. Other hotels in the area said they had probably overbooked and just closed up when they were full.
