Always enjoy our stay and look forward to it every spring and fall travelling through on our way to and from Canada,

Nice elegant character property. With wonderful restaurant. Also wanted to mention the great and friendly service in the restaurant from the blond lady with the cap( can’t remember her name but she went out of her way to accommodate any of our wishes.

As to be expected with an older heritage building the bathroom sink area is very small and the room was a bit dark. We’ve stayed here many times so knew what to expect and we weren’t disappointed.

Cool historic hotel. Skip the restaurant and enjoy downtown.

The historic nature of the hotel is really fun with huge rooms, chandeliers and stained glass. All the facilities were very clean and comfortable. Location can’t be beat!

There was no coffee making in room (instant only). Coffee downstairs was expensive and also tasted like instant. Staff were very friendly but most were not knowledgeable about the area.

Disappointing, but glad I stayed once.

Great location. Comfy bed and very nice linens.

Musty smell, dying flowers in cloudy water on reception desk. Uncomfortable silence - background music would have been nice. Bags of used linen and dirty dishes left until late afternoon on second floor hall and table which should be a beautiful space where one looks up at the stained glass ceiling. Exits not marked. Windows not openable. I asked where the fire escapes were and the clerk said that info should be in my room - not found. We opened a few unmarked doors looking for "a way out", and found an unfinished stairwell which hopefully went outside. Unfriendly vibe. Beautiful building that needs some love and to be operated by someone who cares. I'd studied the history of the building and was expecting a formal but more vibrant and upbeat experience. One unmarked door we opened while searching for the fire escape was dark and full of "stuff" - mattresses, etc, so that was eerie and fun!

Amazing historic hotel in center of town, with original wood. This is a locally owned hotel with tons of character and charm. Go to the restaurant and hopefully you will have Holly as your waitress. She told us interesting and funny stories about the history of the building

I did like the uniqueness of this historic hotel. Especially the arboretum with its stained glass ceiling. Just beautiful!

The sheets were very rough - assuming they get bleached. The toilet paper was way too rough and thin. Maybe because the plumbing is older they need this type of tp?

The overall restoration was done very well. The paint was applied with percision and the walls are straight. The decor was period and in good taste. And the chandeliers were beautiful and plentiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and efficient.

Enjoyed our stay but don’t feel it was a good value for the cost incurred.

Room was clean. Liked that they offered classes/events. My husband participated in the mixology class offered. Rooms were well insulated against sound so was very quiet.

Meals in the hotel were too expensive for the value. Lobby was dirty - carpet had not been vacuumed in who knows how long. Surfaces were dusty and windows and mirrors in lobby were streaked and grimy. Front desk clerk was not very welcoming - seemed bored and like we were an inconvenience. Was charged a $500 hold for incidentals which was a surprise and was not forewarned about. Since it was just a hold I expect this will be reversed but I was mot expecting it - seems a bit excessive. At least room was clean and rest of front desk staff for remainder of stay was friendly.

We always enjoy our stay at the Geiser.

Breakfast was good, not spectacular but nicely done and very reasonably priced. We were quite happy with it.

When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, so we had a couple of hours to kill so we had to put our bags back into the car. It would have been convenient if there was somewhere safe where we could leave our bags.

Fun clean and unique

I'm a pretty harsh crittic when it comes to Hotels, But this is one of the better stays we have had. Totally loved it all. The age of the hotel, the decor, the dining area and it was spotless It was a fun stop.

We just needed a place to sleep so we were there for a very short time. However, we were put in an ADA room facing a brightly light parking lot. Didn't love that.

I liked the chefs, and a couple staff members. The food is overpriced for the portions you receive.

The library was not open. Everything costs extra. The tour should be included in the $1200 to stay. Lamps didn’t work. Couch had button coming off, grommets were missing. Very outdated for the price. I also hated that they allow paranormal investigations from optimal sleeping hours of 9pm-12am.

On Thursday, June 6th, I was a guest at the hotel and stayed in room 309. I was awakened at about 3am in the morning with very loud noises coming from nearby. I could not sleep. I called the front desk and spoke with a woman who suggested I use earplugs (??!!!). I requested a change of room. She put me on hold. I waited 5 minutes before hanging up. When I called again (twice), she did not answer. Instead, I got a very strange greeting and then nothing. I was finally able to get back to sleep about 5am but, needless to say, this ruined my next day -- a long day of driving to my next destination (Jackson, WY). When I complained later that morning, the front desk person allowed that room 309 is next to an equipment room. But the only thing the front desk was able/willing to offer me was a free "upgrade" on my next visit. How perfectly useless! I refused the “upgrade.” I'm not asking for compensation for a lost night and a lost day of driving, but I do ask for a refund of the cost of my room. The front desk person suggested that I contact the hotel through the email address ([email protected]). And then he again asked me to please take the upgrade which I did (to be polite). I emailed the Hotel at [email protected] and received back this response from [email protected]: “We did try to express that by giving you a $69 credit on your folio as well as a gift certificate for a comp upgrade on a future stay. You thanked us for these courtesies before departing. We certainly wish that you’d been more forthright with us then. If you had not stayed overnight in the room, we certainly could have gotten you a full credit. But in fact you were in occupancy of that room for more than eighteen hours. We also offered to show you the room before you checked in, to ensure that it was satisfactory.” The response contains a mixture of distortions and outright falsehoods:

Perfect stay took us back in time!

The nostalgia of old world chandeliers and wood working was very impressive to be around. Chandeliers in the rooms were also very special for us. The large stained glass ceiling in the main area was something to behold.

Tastefully restored old hotel in eastern Oregon's most sophisticated city.

This was once one of the fanciest hotels in Oregon and it has been renovated and restored to some of its former glory. The rooms are large for a historic property. The location is perfect for a visit to Baker City. The staff is pleasant and helpful. It's dog-friendly. Beautiful mountain views from some rooms.

It was restored in the 1990s and in many ways it still seems stuck in that era: DVD players instead of streaming services; a second-floor library filled with Danielle Steel books. Even the restaurant menu seems dated with bread pudding as the featured dessert.
