Pretty much everything.
I struggled a bit with the steps leading up to the bed. They were polished wood and thus a bit slippery.

Upon check in we were greeted with the best energy and the home was filled with comfort and happiness. We visited during the Christmas season ; best decorated house on the entire street! Breakfast was amazing everyday, staff always remembered little details such as we liked milk in our coffee.
That we needed to go home after 5 days only.

Not much although the owner responded to our issues swiftly. We left our 3 night stay after 1 night and received a full refund. That tells you that the owner knows the property is not right.
Our room was in the basement with noisy steps to the man house above.
The room was filthy and had a terrible odour. The furniture was stained and dirty and the carpet was very dirty.
My wife was bitten by bugs or some sort.

Very friendly staff, nice comfy rooms, convenient parking. Breakfast was good. Location is very good, and felt safe. Walking distance from the convention center and Robson square.
Our room may have needed a bit of updating - bathroom fan seemed broken as it was extremely loud, there was a splatter on the wall, and also our room had a locked door to another room that may need some soundproofing (it is right beside the bathroom and I think I startled and woke someone up while peeing in the middle of the night)

Good location, easy to walk to main street. The host was helpful in ordering us a taxi.
Finding an old t-shirt down the bottom of our bed when we got in did not make for a good start to our stay! The sheets did seem clean and we were assured they were.
We would have preferred a choice of cereal, fruit and cooked breakfast instead of just being given one option. The shower was over the bath was very old school; having to make sure all the curtains were in the bath was rather annoying. The Room was a strange configuration and had a corridor to the toilet and bathroom where we had to leave our suitcases as the room with the bed in was rather small. The bedroom had a lock but the corridor didn't.

Everything was fantastic. The host is friendly, helpful, and charming. The apartment is great for one person, a couple or 2 friends. Location is also fantastic. Will definitely book this again!

Barclay House was a lovely accommodation which we enjoyed very much, the location was excellent, our room was in the basement so no view but it was unique and very pleasant.
The only comment I have is regarding the breakfast; it was hard eggs in a pastry cup, tomatoes and melon - whilst it very nicely presented, we would have preferred the option to have something simple ie. toast & jam/cereals etc which we would have enjoyed more.

The best combination - amazing place and amazing host. This is a beautiful B&B located in nice and quiet west side of Vancouver in a charming old Victorian house. The minute you walk inside you get the feeling of a home away from home. Lovely decorated living room and dining area. We booked a room for 2 which had a nice size, micro, TV, little balcony. After 2 days the host from his own good heart upgraded us to another room which was even nicer and bigger. Each day he cooked a different and delicious breakfast. The location is also super - safe neighborhood, 5 min walk from the main Robson st, 5 min from grocery store and from a good bakery. As said the host was super nice, helpful, warm and welcoming. He even did our 2 weeks laundry with taking any extra. He had great tips and you could have tell that he really do care. If in the city again we will sure be back to this place, thank you Dennis!

Well-maintained older home with vintage charm. Excellent location for short walks into dining areas. Also good location for driving or bicycling to various sites breakfast and staff were excellent. Fun to visit with other travelers over breakfast. Parking available a plus.

I enjoyed the area that this residence is in. I enjoyed the beauty of the outside of the house as well as some of the inside.
Is very difficult to try to get a hold of the owner. I had called multiple times months in advance and could not get a hold of him to confirm the reservation. I was wondering, even if it was a scam. He was a little abrasive when we got there. The room itself was OK. It was a bit hot and there was a mouse in our room. The breakfast was given to us without much choice.

Beds were very comfy. Good amount of tea bags/coffee sachets.
The host is very very helpful. Our baggage was delayed and he did all he could to facilitate delivery of the bags. He let me do local and national calls for free from the in room phone.
The host gave his mobile number to contact him 24x7 for any difficulty, a rare service really.
Got a home cooked tasty breakfast each morning.
The B and B is in a very nice neighbourhood of Vancouver. The city centre, Robson street (for shopping) and Stanley park are nearby.
We had the deluxe room. A few queer features like an in room jacuzzi. The bathroom had a frosty glass in the wall, so someone in the room could see the figure of the person taking a shower. Some people may be OK with this but we found it uncomfortable because we went as a family. I gues one can put a temporary curtain on the glass.

The property is very centrally located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. I enjoyed the breakfast service. My room was very comfortable.
The neighbours were very noisy at times and I got woken up by their yelling at 12 midnight. The windows were open as it was summer.

A beautiful location, quiet but in the heart of the city. It felt extremely homely, with blankets to sit on the veranda and a living room. Our bedroom was really comfy, we wished we could have stayed longer. The host was so friendly and flexible and breakfast was delicious!
Absolutely nothing, it was perfect for us!

The neighborhood is really wonderful; Pleasant street; In walking distance for us (we are strong walkers for being old folks) to Stanley Park, English Bay, Coal Harbour, City Centre, Canada Place, and even Granville Island. Barclay House is an attractive, quaint building. The common sitting room and dining area are very attractive. The room we stayed in (Forest) is spacious. Breakfast was expertly cooked, elegantly presented, and the right size for us.
The fixtures and furnishing were mostly good, but a mixed bag. For example, our washroom had an excellent bathtub as well as a good nightlight (a simple amenity too often missing), but it had no shelves on which to store our toiletries. The buildings on the street are closely spaced and our windows looked directly into neighboring apartments. One should be aware that the breakfast is a breakfast of the day, not a choice of various dishes or a buffet.

Chef's kiss to that breakfast. We loved it! Dennis was kind, understood our situation, and gave us precise instructions. The black book inside the room is lovely! The room itself is a gem.
I have to write something, so I'll tell you that I had to put the black book in the window with the kettle to make the room darker because I can't sleep with something bright (like the outdoor light)

In a very convenient residential neighborhood a few blocks from stores and restaurants. Walkable to many parts of the city.
Breakfast was different each day, multi-course, fresh and healthy. Room was large, plenty of space for clothes, and many windows for light. Free parking is provided on site. Manager was very friendly and helpful.
No A/C. It was very warm for Seattle and the room didn't cool off with the help of a fan until after dark. Could use new carpeting and TV.

I'm a little fussy, having stayed in many great hotels and a few BnB's. It wasn't as clean as I would like. There is a faint cat pee odor in the partial basement room. A good carpet cleaning may remedy that.
Then, we felt the owner was avoiding us when we were trying to get our valuables out of the jammed safe in the room. We never got a return call all day to acknowledge the issue, having left a message on his phone as soon as it happened. We returned at the end of the day to discover the safe had been opened, and our items were sitting there safe and undisturbed.
The place is charming, in a great location, and the owner is a pretty good cook, serving us breakfast each morning, but we'd probably like to try another place next time.
If you go, refuse the Hide Away. Don't settle for less than upstairs.

Location
My wife and I have mobility issues and the facility required us to go up to second floor. That information was missing from the hotel description. Also, we found a plastic glass in bathroom similar to one you would find in a cheap motel. Room was not completely clean each day

Man with mask answered door. We weren't even allowed to go inside to use bathroom. Had to leave luggage on porch until the room was available. I have never seen someone so afraid of covid who charges a ridiculous amount of money to stay for 1 night and offers absolutely no service to us.
The shower was awful. An old tub with a wrap around shower curtain that clung to your skin, very uncomfortable bed.
