They are still not finished with their renovation which makes it uncomfortable. No lift to the rooms which was hard.

Good for a short visit.

Very clean. Lots of hot water. Everything worked. Quiet on that side of the building. Excellent location for so many attractions around downtown and the West End, including Stanley Park.

Beds were a bit small. Less than single., more like cots, but that was the room that had the deal, so… Security should be a lot better. Anyone can just walk in unnoticed and gain access to the upper floors.

I would say the price is over charge. The room layout is for 1 bed only, but they fit in the 2 beds so it's too crow

Old place, The bed and bathroom was clean, but smell wasn't pleasing.. It's not the cleaners fault for the smell, it's something about being an old buiding, my partner said, it smells like rats dropping, but no actual droppings, just the smell.

The Barclay was great for the location and nice staff, would recommend to a friend.

Location is excellent, if your wanting to be near shopping and stanley park, the Barclay is an amazing place to stay. The cost was also very well suited since most hotels in the area overcharge this time of the year. Cora being below is also a nice touch for breakfast.

Cleanliness of the room, the bedsheets had a few black spots on the base of the bed likely stained. Also the TV was super old and wasn't the greatest quality of picture.

Affordable hotel in great location downtown, but undergoing renovations

Perfect location to walk around the city. Near tons of restaurants and shops. Room was very clean. Mostly renovated bathroom. Room contained mini fridge, which is a plus. No noise during our Friday - Monday stay, despite obvious signs of ongoing renovation.

Beds need replacement. We could feel all the mattress springs while sleeping. Would love to have coffee maker in room, but it's close to Tim Hortons, so it wasn't a real issue. Room only partially renovated, patched up areas, but new tile/tub. No elevator, but we knew that going in, so not an issue for us

Very old and smelly hotel with great location

Staff was friendly at all times. The bedroom was very spacious. Great location.

The building suffered water damage, so there was a strong pee smell everywhere. We even bought an air freshener. The air conditioner was very old and make a lot of noise, make it hard to sleep. There is a construction right next to the hotel, this also contributed to the noise. The internet condition was so slow that was impossible to use.

Location good with lots of cafes nearby. Hotel currently being refurbished and we were advised when booking. Renovations are still progressing and when completed should be good.

Amazing location, great value, comfortable beds and room.

Excellent location, clean rooms, wonderful staff! We would for sure stay again in future trips.

We were visiting while the building was under renovation, so a little construction noise was heard during the day, but was very manageable. Our room AC wasn’t ideally positioned and blew most of the cold air to the ceiling, maybe install a deflector.

The location was convenient for visiting the city as a tourist.

The building is old, and the interior is highly degraded. The air conditioning was loud, and there was a strange odor throughout.

A rare find downtown. Glad it’s being renovated.

Excellent location and friendly staff. Check in/out was a breeze. The room was clean, water temp and pressure was great, AC was good although the filter needed cleaning.

Room doors slam really loud, they may need a door softener. A big chunk of the building was being renovated/demolished so you could smell different chemicals as you go up and down the stairs.

It was fortunately short!

It had a bed, bathroom and tv.

no elevator (we knew ahead of time), VERY OLD building! Everything looked jerry rigged. There were extention cords everywhere, in our room alone the paint in the bathroom didn't match, the door closure was broken, there was duct tape on a heating vent, the repairs around outlets was terrible, there was an unprofessional, hand drawn picture of how to operate the shower, the telephone was probably from the 70's, the door didn't open all the way-it got stuck on the carpet, the dresser was missing part of the wood veneer. It looked like a low rent apt. Also, there was no free coffee offered either in the room or the lobby.

Barclay hotel vacay

The price and the location was excellent. The staff were friendly. There was soap, shampoo provided, and clean towels. We had a "suite" so it was roomy.

There was no air conditioning in the room. The room needed some cosmetic repairs for chipped paint and such.

There is no elevator, the wall in the bathroom looked scorched above the very old looking heater and there were renovations taking place so we had to be careful on the stairs.
