It was a spotlessly clean room within a friendly family home. We had our own private entrance to come and go as we wished. The location was really good - within a short walk of all the places of interest in Kirkwall.
We found the choices for eating out a little bit limited in Kirkwall - maybe we don't know the place well enough yet. Given that there isn't a proper kitchen with the room (no criticism intended - the apartment has been done beautifully) perhaps some personal recommendations for eating out.

Stort romslig soverom. Halvard Hous ligger ca 5-10 min å gå fra St. Magnus Church og ca 15 fra Sentrum/havna. Rolig boområde og gateparkering rett ved. Vi spiste ute og hadde take away - det er kort vei til spisesteder.
Ingenting spesielt.

Great location quiet but short walk to main area Kirkwall
Large room decor maybe not to everyone’s taste but clean and very comfy bed
Owner left milk and some surprise goodies that was a nice touch.
Parked easy on street.
Only negative was shower pressure as seems to be the same where ever ever we stayed in Scotland
Was still nice and hot tho
