Troon - Coastal Getaway

This apartment was all about the location. Situated in the town centre and a few hundred yards to the beach. Spotless bedding. Lovely Snow White fluffy towels and mini toiletries.

The main thing I didn’t like was the filthy toilet brush which was disgusting. I was also put off by the very corroded metal toilet roll holder. A large dead potted plant outside the entrance to the apartment was not attractive. The kitchen floor had clearly not been cleaned as remnants of rice were evident. On the 23rd May the host sent me a form to complete. I was checking into the property the following day. He requested I send a copy of my passport photo or photo driving licence or ID registration. The form asked for my date of birth and other details. I was already on holiday in another area and did not have any photo ID. I had already paid for the apartment at this stage. My family members did not think it was at all appropriate for him to request this information. Fortunately he accepted my bus pass photo. Personally I think this form should have been requested completion at the time of booking as I would have time to decide whether to retain or cancel the booking. By the time I received this I had already paid for the property.

Parking … I did not have an issue but I can see why future guests may be unhappy about parking away from the venue

The appartment is in a fabulous location as a base to explore the west coast of Scotland. Despite being on a main road there wasnt any road noise. The bed was very comfortable however the mattress was smaller than the bed frame and you are forever catching your legs when walking past it.

The appartment is very tired and the images on booking.com are some what old. Huge carpet stains in the living/dining room. Dirty marks on the walls. Very poor workmanship throughout. Smeared silicone around the sink and wall tiles. Plastic trunking sat on top of skirting boards. Damaged kick boards in the kitchen. The dining table was badly marked and when we cleaned it paint was coming off. The attention to detail is none existent..from blunt carving knifes to a pedal bin that didnt work. Both curtain tie backs where broken ..one being very dangerous. There are two small wardrobes either side of the bed ,one had 10 coat hangers in it the other a hoover bucket mop bin bag of old rags and one coat hanger. The chrome toilet roll holder in the shower room was disgusting rusty from top to bottom , I hate to think whats made it rusty . The shower has a sign on it making you aware that the on/off button is faulty and it needs several presses to switch it off , the amount of water thats wasted is not very environmentally friendly. The list goes on. I can provide images of all the above.
