We had a lovely time staying at the Villa. Nikolaos is great. Very high chances of a returning visit

The Villa is great and Nikolaos is a great host! It is located about 25m from the shoreline. In the mornings there's enough sand for a towel and an umbrella, although you should spend some time putting rocks aside. The water is warm and nice, but you are only 2m away from the road, so that can be scary - Greek drivers don't drive slow, anywhere. There's a nice swing in the yard for children, and plenty of room for children to play. The porch is spacious for a small glass table with a few chairs, along with a long 6 person table. A spacious sink and shower in the yard makes cleaning up sand before you enter the Villa a breeze. You are a walking distance away from the Sahara beach (to the West), if you prefer private establishments, or the same distance to the public Nea Kalikrateia beach (to the East), if you prefer public beaches. If you like renovated old timey houses with modern utilities, that can make you feel like you are in the mountains whilst being on the beach - this is a lovely experience. As a precaution against bee allergies from our end, the owner took the time to move all the pots with flowers in a single corner of the yard so we can be as safe as possible from any possible bees. For an entire week, we didn't see a single bee.

All doors inside the house are sliding doors that don't fully close, and they are all rather loud. This could be a problem if you are travelling with children or light sleepers. Luckily, our kid sleeps like a stump. In order to get to the master bedroom you have to go through the smaller bedroom first. If your child is there, and you go to bed at a later time - you risk waking them up every night. The fact that a single sliding door splits the two bedrooms also eliminates any possible bedroom adult time when travelling with kids. There's a good amount of wasps on the property. Right now there seems to be a nest underneath the roof tiles. We've informed the owner and he will likely address this. They are not much of a problem but can be a nuisance. There is no "on premise" parking, you have to park on the street. While there is room for about 3 cars on the side of the alley gate, which leads to the property, that space is only a couple of meters away from the road, which is rather dark at night. Combining the fact that Greeks drive like they are always racing against themselves, with the salt and sand blown off by the sea - the parking spot is in a rather dangerous place. All windows are equipped with mosquito screens. The owner even provided some things to burn against mosquitos, as well as a bug spray. We thought we came prepared with our own "bug light", which takes care of mosquitos in our house very quickly as it attracts them and zaps them. I don't know what those abominations are in Greece, but those mosquitos can probably get a PhD - they are not bothered at all by sprays and they completely ignore the "bug light". Be prepared for mosquito bites, those things are intelligent and vicious.

Truly wonderful place.

It's nice and beautiful, both the house and the yard. In the kitchen and bath you have everything you need. The host is amazing and will help you with anything you need. Location is close to the town as well as the beach.
