Lovely host, great location, challenging driving

Location was great, quite near the main old town areas so lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Very nice area and town. Definitely worth a few days. Weather was nice a couple days so opportunities for al frescoe dining or having a beverage were ample. The host was great.

Host was very helpful organizing the parking. There are not enough spots for all guests but it wasn't a problem when I was there. No lift but not a big problem as I left things in the car. The signage to get to the hotel could have had directional arrows at a significant fork in the road. Given that the hotel is in the old town, the streets are windy, 1-lane and rough although after the first day, I got used to it.

Amazing hotel with views for millions in the heart of the old town

Hotel Comfort is a perfect choice for accommodation if you are in Veliko Turnovo. Situated in the heart of the old town, it has a mesmerising view over the old town, Tsarevets and Trapezitsa famous hills with the fortress and Yantra river. The hotel is just a minute away from Samovodska chashia market, popular for all its numerous small craft stores. On a walking distance also are all museums and a great variety of restaurants with delicious local and international cuisine. The hotel room that we chose was a double room, but upon our arrival we were offered an upgrade of the room free of charge, giving us the opportunity to be situated on the last floor with a balcony and an amazing view! The host Mr. Antonio Minev was extremely polite and helpful, giving us not only the free of charge upgrade, but a lot of useful tips on where to go and the hours of the light effects show on Tsarevets’ hill. The room was super cozy, comfortable and clean. We arrived by car and had the chance to park on the parking lot of the hotel - priceless opportunity given the busyness of the city and streets during weekends and high season. Thank you very much for the hospitality and lovely place!

Great location. Very clean and affordable. The owner was very nice, professional and accommodating to everything we needed. The views are amazing from the room we stayed in. Ideal location and hotel for a short stay in Turnavo.

Perfect location, amazing view to the fortress and most important of all, private parking

Situated in the old town, the hotel had everything you need for a weekend getaway: perfect location, amazing view to the fortress and maybe most important of all, private parking. Just a 3-min walk from the main street where you find all the shops and souvenirs in the old town, the hotel was on a little street remote enough that it wasn't noisy and offer a spectacular view of fortress (which at 9 pm is the protagonist of a light show of the whole hill). The host was very helpful and accommodating and gave us recommendations around the place. We were delighted to have parking since this is very scarce in the old town and we went in a very busy weekend (for Labor Day).

The whole place has a rustic vibe which is part of its charm and the local specific, but some of the things do need to be brought up to speed. Nothing that bothering though and everything is more than made up for by the view and location.

A very good location with an exceptional panoramic view. Welcoming, well-informed and very kind host. In addition, the location had parking, which is a great advantage and the hotel's position is extremely close to the tourist area. Our room was very large, and with an exceptional view that made all the money worth it. Even if we didn't have four or five star accommodation, the location was exceptional. The bed very comfortable, the linen clean and smells nice, A/C, Tv, very large windows, a refrigerator and the room very clean. In the balcony there is a quite comfortable sofa that allows you to sit and contemplate the surroundings for a very long time. The minus was the fact that we had the toilet and shower in the hallway, but it was only for us. The other rooms have a bathroom in the room. This didn't bother us too much and we can get over it. We will be back here as soon as possible.

Superb

This private hotel is in the old part of the city. The view from the room is directly to the mountains with the old castle, a great point to see the sunrise. The hotel is simple but very nice. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. He was waiting for us to greet us at the door and helped us carry our Lagrange up to the room.

We had a hard time finding it because the sign was very small, and the old road leading to the hotel is a Romen road with uneven cobblestone. But it was part of being in an authentic Bulgarian family home.

In the heart of the old town.

Not bad accommodation, right in the heart of old town. Friendly and chatty owner. Nice view from the window. Parking is a huge benefit.

It's not a real hotel. It's rather like a family-run guest house. The price paid is too much for what the customers get. The room was ok as a size but very, very modest for the hotel's standards. Firm beds with clean but old sheets. Only one towel per person, and only one bedside lamp with no shade?! TV is a very old model and as you can predict is unwatchable. Same as the aircon. Most unwelcoming bathroom ever for us. It's big, but cold and poor equipt. The window overlooks some wall and there is no problem for spiders to get in. With smelly sewage. The room window can be open only on one side, but the handle is about 2 meters high so isn't easy to reach. The next-door room has an external private bathroom so we can hear other guests all the time in and out plus additional noise from the use of it. No cleaning or room making for 3 nights. Yes, the owner asked us if we need anything but in my opinion, he should just do it, not ask. Also, the car park could be limited in busy times so make sure to make a clear request to the owner and reserve the space.

Exceptional hotel and location.

Exceptional hotel. Amazing location and views which I doubt could be bettered in VT. Yes its a large converted old house with charm ....... which just adds to the overall experience. A simple minute walk from the Central Old Town, with free parking at the hotel included. The management and cleanliness of this small hotel is absolutely first class, and I say this having previously stayed in big 5 star city hotels in London and Paris! Highly recommended, do not miss out on this hotel if you visit Veliko Tarnovo!

Well positionated in a very traditional quartier. The rating is maxim for this type of location,a traditional house. Do not have luxury hotel expectations! Parking is available on site. Rooms are clean and cosy,with big windows overlooking the city. Perfect panaorma during day and night ( you can watch de light and sound show)

The host was very friendly and the location was excellent. There is also a parking lot there and this is really nice, because otherwize there is nowhere to park.

The bathroom was outside the room and there was no refrigerator in the room. Bathroom is private, but you have to go out in the corridor, where there are 2 more rooms.

The owner Antonio was super welcoming and willing to help. He explained what could we see near and within the town and provided a lot of useful info. The conditions were exactly as described and even better. We fealt like home and the room was cozy. The view was breathtaking and the hotel was super close to restaurants, shops and cocktail bars. We will definitely come back when we have time.

Nice and basic family hotel , with the best host ever

The host was the nicest person we met in Bulgaria! The location is great, private parking, 2 minutes walking from the old town center. The view from the balcony in the 4th floor was amazing! You can see the valley and the fortress.

The sheets were not good (clean but too old). The bathroom was in a different room (but private)

The Comfort is an Old School family hotel in an excellent position.

The location in the old town is excellent. One has to drive one's car very slowly down the ancient bumpy stone road, but the new town of VT is relatively characterless and dull. The Comfort is an Old School family hotel in an excellent position.

The owner has put up numerous adverts for the Hotel Comfort all over the place and these are quite confusing. I banged on the door of a derelict old building, which bore a large sign saying "Hotel Comfort." I was only glad that it wasn't. local told me it was just "publicity" and directed me to the real hotel 100 or so yards away!

Прекрасна локация - едновременно в самия център, но и леко встрани от голямата лудница и шум. Бяхме на посления етаж и от терасата на стаята ни се откриваше уникална гледка към Царевец. Изключително любезен домакин, готов да ни съдейства за всичко по всяко време. Резервирах суит и очаквах една по-голяма стая, а реално получихме апаратмент с две отделни помещения, което ни изненада приятно.

Обзавеждането е старо; за да стигнем до банята минавахме през общ коридор; би било добре в стаята да има кошче за боклук и лъжички (предвид това, че има чаши).., но въпреки тези дребни минуси уикенд престоят ни беше прекрасен и бихме ползвали услугите на хотела отново.
