River Lodge, Aldeburgh

We stayed here on 2025 and decided to return as this suited our needs: quiet and spacious location with great views and accessible to the town

Biting insects! There were quite a few earwigs but should be expected in a wooden building on a farm!

This was a brilliant place to stay for just the two of us. The lodge has a beautiful view across the fields, with the river Alde in the far distance. Sitting on the porch watching the sun set was a fantastic start to our little holiday. The bed was comfortable enough, and it was generally quite clean. The lodge really suited just the two of us, and we cooked full meals when we were there. I'd definitely recommend visiting here - I'd go back if I had the chance. We had a bathroom blockage on Saturday morning as well, and we called the emergency number - we had a plumber out within 30 minutes. Smooth and efficient service.

An absence of hooks in the bathroom (only a small thing) What the owners have no control over and is just a recommendation for future visitors - I would definitely recommend bringing an anti-bug candle if you want to sit outside when the sun has set.

It was smaller than picture expected some comfy sofa to lounge on but had to use bed. Mattress v v soft.
