Coasters, Aldeburgh

The beds were comfy, the bathrooms were mostly in great condition, kitchen well equipped and the location was wonderful, quiet and close to the High Street and shops.

The velux windows were very dirty, there was dust in places on fixtures and fittings, some of the kitchen utensils and cooking equipment was grimy or unusable due to rust/deterioration, kettle filled with limescale, the bunk bed ladder rung was wobbly and the plastic covering on the front door step was loose and almost caused a nasty trip. Being accused by the property agent/owner of leaving the property in a ‘state’ (we did not have sufficient time to empty the bins because the cleaners arrived early and we felt rushed to leave) and being accused of breaking the bunk bed ladder rung and radiator valve in the kids room (completely untrue) made us feel horrible and unlikely to return. We always leave holiday properties in a good condition and were shocked by these accusations. After checking several reviews left by others for the property agent it appears clients are often accused of breaking things and deposits are withheld (although ours was returned) so something to bear in mind before booking. Perhaps the owner should consider using a different property management company, if they do we might be more open to returning to Coasters in the future.

Stairs to the upper floor Difficulty with opening/closing velux windows. Control knob on downstairs shower very stiff and lack of attention to proper cleaning of the shower screen - mould

Near to centre and good sized accommodation with large double beds. Good for children too as there were bunk beds

Only a few windows so not much of a view

It was a great location.

It was a bit tired in the living area and kitchen. There was a musty smell which was quite off putting. There was black mould on the windows in the loft bedroom- clearly hasn’t been cleaned for some time. Coming straight into carpet in the lounge was not a great idea when the weather was bad.
